Position Purpose:
Be a part of the core engineering engine driving the next generation of Artificial Intelligence within BNP Paribas Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). We are currently spearheading the establishment of the Agentic Project Center of Excellence (CoE). Our mission is to move beyond static automation and build a sophisticated ecosystem of autonomous, reasoning agents capable of navigating complex financial workflows.
As part of this team, you will not just be building traditional APIs; you will be architecting the "intelligence backbone"—the high-performance, scalable, and resilient infrastructure that allows Large Language Models (LLMs) and multi-agent systems to interact with the bank’s enterprise data and tools.
- The department requires highly seasoned Senior Developer to serve as a technical cornerstone of AI Platform team.
- Primary focus will be the engineering of the orchestration layer that supports the Agentic CoE’s vision
- Expected to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and production-grade software engineering
- Responsible for building the frameworks that allow agents to use tools, maintain state, and execute complex multi-step reasoning tasks
- Work deeply within the Python ecosystem, leveraging the latest advancements in agentic orchestration to turn experimental AI workflows into robust, enterprise-ready services
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Strong development expertise (min 5 years Java/C++ and 5+ years Python), with the ability to build scalable, maintainable, production-grade systems.
- Deep understanding of Data Structures & Algorithms and their appropriate use cases
- In-depth understanding of Java (Object Oriented Programming) principles is required along with the elements of the Java ecosystem
- Ability to switch from Java to Python (and vice versa), experience using both programming languages is required and previous experience with other languages (e.g. C/C++) would be welcome
- Ability to analyse and optimize solutions using Time and Space Complexity (Big-O) principles
- Experience with Concurrency and Parallel Processing using Multithreading, Multiprocessing, Async Programming, and synchronization mechanisms
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems involving nested data structures, large-scale data processing, and system performance bottlenecks
- Strong understanding of RESTful architecture, API lifecycle management, versioning, authentication, authorization, and API security best practices.
- Ability to design LLM orchestration frameworks using LangGraph (or Google ADK or CrewAI), LangChain, LlamaIndex (optional), agent workflows, tool integration, and state management.
- Ability to architect enterprise-scale AI platforms with governance, observability, security, scalability, and banking-grade operational controls.
- Design and build secure, scalable, enterprise-grade APIs - FastMCP (Model Context Protocol)
- SQL (PostgreSQL), Message Oriented Middleware knowledge, creating interactive UIs with frameworks like React, Vue or Svelte are good to have.
Behavioral Skills:
• Ability to work with individuals to set individual objectives and manage performance to ensure their delivery.
• Ability to liaise with stakeholders to act as bridging point.
• Prior experience of operating in complex and diverse IT systems environment. Results orientated with a clear understanding of how the results impact the business

Education Level: Bachelors / master’s degree in information technology / computer science or related from top tier colleges.
