Introduction to the job
ASML is looking for a bright, self-motivated, and business-savvy lawyer with strong interpersonal and communication skills and solid general legal and compliance experience to join its in-house legal team and assist with a broad range of compliance and transactional matters.
Responsibilities
In close cooperation with globally-based legal and compliance teams, the successful candidate will handle a variety of legal work with a focus on commercial matters, including:
Business Partnership - Serve as a trusted legal business partner by proactively understanding the business, anticipating their needs, raising the awareness of, and addressing any material gaps and needs and providing appropriate solutions to enable their business objectives in a compliant manner.
Contracting - Lead and manage contracting activities, including drafting and negotiating contracts, and managing templates and playbooks. Work closely with HQ colleagues and other regions to ensure global alignment and maintain responsibility for contract management, global policies, playbooks and quality control.
Compliance - In close collaboration with the Compliance and Ethics & Business integrity teams, raising awareness within the business units on compliance matters and promoting a culture of compliance within the organization.
Coordination - Coordinates HQ legal support for customer dealmaking, compliance issues (antitrust, export control, ethics, cybersecurity), and dispute management and prevention activities across the global legal team supporting sales and customer service teams worldwide.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Education and Experience
Must have J.D. or equivalent law degree.
7+ years of legal and compliance experience (some in-house experience preferred).
Fluency in English and excellent English contract drafting skills.
Proven experience dealing with change and AI transformation

Able to deal with high pressure and high workload
Able to work independently with little supervision
Flexible, able to embrace uncertainty
Good organizational skills and able to bring structure in the working environment.
Context of the position
This is a Senior Legal Counsel position based in Veldhoven, The Netherlands, reporting into the Head of Legal & Compliance CS&S.
