What You'll Do
The Engineering Toolkit Squad removes tooling friction for BCG X case teams by delivering secure, scalable, and self-service engineering capabilities. As a Global IT Platform Engineer Manager, you will bring deep technical expertise to the platforms and services that enable engineers to focus on solving complex client problems.
You will drive the organization’s AI enablement initiatives by designing, developing, and maintaining AI-powered solutions, with Generative AI as a key strategic focus area. Alongside this work, you will lead complex platform initiatives, help resolve escalated technical challenges, and partner across engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to improve the reliability, security, and adoption of our developer ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive AI enablement initiatives, designing and delivering practical Generative AI solutions for engineering teams.
- Lead the evolution of critical developer platforms, including GitHub Enterprise, JFrog Artifactory, and Gurobi.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and shape recommendations based on engineering needs, risk, scalability, and business impact.
- Lead resolution of complex platform, infrastructure, and security challenges across Windows and Linux environments.
- Identify platform risks and dependencies, working across teams to develop and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
- Improve engineering productivity through automation, self-service capabilities, and low-code and no-code platforms.
- Partner across engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to align priorities and deliver complex platform initiatives.
- Transfer technical knowledge through documentation, training, mentoring, and guidance that enables teams to work more independently.
What You'll Bring
- Deep expertise in GitHub Enterprise, including Copilot, Actions, Codespaces, and developer security tooling.
- Strong experience administering JFrog Artifactory, including Xray, Projects, repositories, and storage governance.
- Demonstrated experience managing Gurobi Optimizer environments and supporting on-premises compute infrastructure.
- Strong Windows and Linux expertise, including platform administration, automation, networking, and security.
- Proficiency in Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages to automate complex operational workflows.
- Experience evaluating and applying AI technologies, including Generative AI, to practical engineering challenges.
- Ability to lead complex technical work, resolve escalated issues, and transfer expertise across diverse teams.
Who You'll Work With
You’ll be part of the Engineering Toolkit Squad within the Platform Experience Portfolio in the Enterprise Platforms and Engineering organization at Tech@BCG. The squad enables BCG X and the broader consulting business with secure, scalable engineering platforms and capabilities.
You’ll work closely with engineers, case teams, infrastructure teams, and business partners across BCG. You’ll bring technical expertise to complex challenges, build alignment across teams, and help colleagues adopt AI-powered and developer technologies effectively. Through collaboration, mentoring, and knowledge sharing, you’ll help strengthen engineering capabilities and self-service experiences across our global organization.

For this role, you will generally be expected to work from a BCG office or in person with clients on a regular basis (typically around 50% of working time), depending on business needs and in line with local policies and practices.
