Enterprise Security Services Overview 

As part of the KTS Organization, Enterprise Security Services (ESS) offers an inclusive and equitable workforce that empowers our teams to deliver proactive and responsive security and investigative services that protect Key’s communities, clients, and employees. Key Technology and Services Internship Program  

Our summer internship program spans 10.5 weeks in duration and allows you to work alongside KeyBank’s experts within Key Technology, Operations & Services (KTS). The internship provides an opportunity to get hands-on experience with our innovative security teams. Our internships will equip you with competitive skills, valuable networking and mentoring.  

Opportunities for Intern placements:  

Enterprise Fraud Services (EFS) - Enterprise Fraud Services is responsible for developing Key’s holistic fraud defense strategy and the various related components needed to enhance the effectiveness of Key’s fraud programs.   

Teams Include: Fraud Investigations, Fraud Detection Strategies and Analytics, EFS Solutions, Fraud Operations, Client Protection, Client Identity & Access Management 

Skillsets:  

• Interest in using data to solve problems 

• Curiosity about fraud, risk, and banking protections 

• Comfortable working with numbers and Excel 

• Ability to learn processes and spot improvements 

• Clear written and verbal communication 

• Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset

Physical Security Solutions - Define and enforce physical security standards, respond to and manage critical events, provide executive security and protection services, conduct assessments, and coordinate electronic and physical security needs for all facilities. 

Teams Include: Physical Security Management, Operations Support, Process and Controls, Executive Security

Security Portfolio & Issues Management Office - Responsible for supporting Key’s overall Security strategy by providing centralized management of Key’s security portfolio projects and fraud-related compliance issues.  We work closely with business, technology, and risk teams to make sure work stays on track; progress is clearly reported, and any issues are identified early and escalated when needed. 

Teams Include: Security Portfolio Management & Fraud Issues Management

ESS Business Management - The ESS Business Management team’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating Enterprise Security Services (ESS) program-level activities for Information Security, Fraud and Physical Security teams (e.g., business unit review, townhalls, business continuity plans, risk surveys, line of business updates, etc.), delivering Security Education & Awareness to employees and clients, and data insights & reporting. 

Teams Include: Data & Business Intelligence, Security Education and Awareness 

Skillsets:

• Knowledge of security, fraud, and risk concepts 

• Strong coordination and organizational skills 

• Ability to analyze data and produce reports

• Opportunities to use industry leading software (examples include: Tableau, ServiceNow, Visual Studio, Jira, Automation Anywhere, Jenkins, PowerShell, HTML, C#, Python, R, SQL, JavaScript, SOAR, SIEM, Proxy, Confluence, XDR, Oracle, Actimize, GCP, SAS 

• Upon successful completion of the internship, you will have the opportunity to be considered for placement (after graduation) in our KTS Rotational Analyst Program. Candidacy for the program will be based on skills demonstrated, performance, career interests, internship experience, and business demand. 

Qualifications 

• Must have completed at least three years toward a four-year, undergraduate degree program, graduating in May 2028 or December 2027, with focused coursework in Operations, Data Analytics or Data Science, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics/ Mathematics, Intelligence Studies, Criminal Justice, Legal, Finance/Accounting, Business, Marketing, Information Systems, IT Management, Software Engineering, Web Development, Game Design and System Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related majors 

• Outstanding academic achievement (minimum undergraduate 3.0 GPA) 

• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork from past work experience and/or extracurricular activities 

• Bring solid analytical, problem solving, communication and presentation skills 

• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint 

• Possess intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm and willingness to learn  

Compensation and Benefits 

This position is eligible to earn an hourly rate of $25 per hour. Compensation also includes a $2,000.00 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus. 

KeyBank’s Internship and Analyst positions are not eligible for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B visa). This includes, for example, situations where a candidate may have temporary work authorization while enrolled in school or upon graduation (e.g., CPT, OPT) but would need H-1B visa sponsorship within a few years of employment in order to maintain employment eligibility.
