Role Summary:

The Product Owner serves as the primary product authority and trusted advisor for airline clients adopting the mobile application (iOS and Android). This role owns the end-to-end mobile product experience for each client — translating their business goals, branding, and operational needs into a tailored, well-prioritized mobile app backlog. Working closely with airline client stakeholders on one side and internal mobile design, engineering, and delivery teams on the other, the Product Owner ensures each airline's mobile application drives passenger engagement and commercial value. Success is measured by client satisfaction, on-time delivery of mobile releases, and the business results the app generates for each airline. 

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Relationship Management 

• Act as the main mobile product point of contact for one or more airline clients throughout the engagement lifecycle. 

• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with client product, commercial, digital, and operations stakeholders. 

• Run discovery workshops to understand each airline's mobile experience objectives, passenger journey goals, and operational constraints. 

• Manage client expectations on mobile app scope, timelines, and trade-offs; communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly. 

Requirements & Mobile Backlog Ownership 

• Capture, analyze, and translate client requirements into clear mobile app user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria. 

• Own and prioritize the client-specific mobile product backlog, balancing client requests against platform capabilities and the broader mobile roadmap. 

• Distinguish between standard/configurable mobile features and custom development, advising clients on the most efficient path. 

• Make data-informed trade-off decisions and negotiate mobile feature priorities with clients when demand exceeds capacity. 

Mobile Solution Delivery & Configuration 

• Guide clients through configuration of core mobile app capabilities: flight search & booking, check-in, boarding passes, seat selection, baggage, flight status, push notifications, and disruption handling. 

• Oversee branding, localization, and client-specific business rules within the mobile application. 

• Coordinate integration of the mobile app with the airline's systems (PSS/GDS, loyalty, payment gateways, operational data feeds). 

• Support ancillary and loyalty feature enablement on mobile to drive client revenue. 

Cross-Functional Coordination (Internal) 

• Bridge client needs and internal Agile mobile delivery teams; lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and mobile app demos. 

• Collaborate with mobile UX/UI, engineering, QA, and delivery/project managers to ensure committed features are delivered to quality. 

• Channel recurring or high-value client requests into the core mobile product roadmap as candidate platform features. 

Mobile Adoption, Value & Continuous Improvement 

• Define mobile success metrics with each client (app adoption, conversion, ancillary attach rate, NPS/CSAT, app store rating). 

• Use mobile analytics and client feedback to recommend enhancements and demonstrate value realization. 

• Conduct post-release reviews and mobile roadmap planning sessions with clients. 

Governance, Compliance & Quality 

• Ensure delivered mobile solutions meet aviation regulations, accessibility (WCAG), data privacy (GDPR/PCI-DSS), and app store guidelines. 

• Maintain clear documentation of mobile app client commitments, decisions, and configuration choices.
