In that capacity, Markets Operations support all post trade functions in a wide range of asset classes including Fixed Income (Foreign Exchange, Rates, Credit, Municipal Products, Cash & Derivatives); Equities (Cash, Derivatives); Futures and Derivatives Clearing; FX Prime Brokerage; and Syndicates (Fixed Income and Banking).

To further strengthen our global model, to optimize follow the sun capabilities and to enhance product offering, Futures and Derivative Clearing (FDC) Operations are now opening a new site in Pune.
Analyst Futures and Derivatives Clearing Operations, Brokerage Control, Pune
The Analyst– Brokerage Control will be a key member of a newly established Brokerage Control team responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust control framework across the end-to-end brokerage lifecycle for Futures and Options products. The role will focus on ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of brokerage accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting across global legal entities.
The successful candidate will partner closely with Operations, Finance, Technology, Product, and Control teams across multiple regions, including Pune, Tampa, Belfast, London, New York, and Singapore, to strengthen controls, resolve issues at source, and drive process improvements that reduce operational risk and enhance efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Brokerage Control & Reconciliations
Perform daily reconciliation of brokerage payables and receivables, ensuring alignment between operational sub-ledgers and financial books and records.
Review and validate brokerage accruals, expense recognition, accrual paydowns, and cash settlements across multiple legal entities.
Ensure complete and accurate accounting treatment for brokerage-related transactions and balances.
Investigate, resolve, and escalate reconciliation breaks and exceptions in a timely manner.
Risk Management & Controls
Execute independent controls over brokerage processing activities to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and work with Technology, Product and Operations teams to implement sustainable solutions.
Maintain strong balance sheet controls and substantiation processes supporting revenue and transaction expense accounting.
Monitor key risk indicators and ensure appropriate escalation of issues to senior management.
Process Improvement & Change Management
Identify opportunities to enhance controls, automate manual processes, and reduce operational risk.
Support strategic initiatives focused on process simplification, control optimization, and operational excellence.
Partner with stakeholders to implement system enhancements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
Build strong relationships with global stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Technology, Product, and Risk functions.
Provide clear reporting and management information on control performance, aged breaks, risks, and remediation activities.
Contribute to regional and global initiatives aimed at improving organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Experience
Prior experience in Futures & Options Operations, or related functions. Background in Accounting or experience in an Audit environment would be beneficial.
Strong experience in reconciliations, trade matching, brokerage fee processing, or financial controls.
Experience investigating and resolving operational and accounting breaks.
Demonstrated understanding of front-to-back trade lifecycle processes within listed derivatives markets.
Experience working within a controlled and regulated financial services environment.
Technical Knowledge
Sound understanding of:
Exchange and brokerage fee structures
Accrual accounting principles
Balance sheet reconciliations and substantiation
Financial controls and risk management
Operational risk frameworks
Personal Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage workloads effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong process improvement and change management mindset.
Naturally curious with a desire to understand root causes and drive sustainable solutions.
Ability to operate successfully in a complex, matrixed, and evolving environment.
Sound judgment with the ability to assess risks and escalate issues appropriately.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
Professional accounting or financial qualifications (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA, CFA) are advantageous.
