Director of Marketing & Communications, Reinsurance

Job Description

As the Marketing Director for Reinsurance, you will be responsible for marketing, internal comms and external comms; positioning the Reinsurance Segment as a thought leader and partner of choice in the marketplace through a variety of marketing and communication channels. You will work directly with Senior Management to develop the marketing and communications plan that helps drive the Reinsurance Strategy objectives. You will act as an adviser and deliver on your plans by working closely with other members of the global internal and external comms teams and brand and marketing teams, as well as with internal and outsourced resources.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

Marketing

• Develop and execute the Reinsurance marketing plan that supports the business strategy while building and reinforcing AXA XL’’s offering amongst target groups (Clients, and Brokers.
• In conjunction with the business drive the conference strategy for key Reinsurance Global conferences (Monte Carlo/Baden Baden/PCI & CIAB)
• Leverage AXA XL’s and AXA’s thought leadership, and work with them to create compelling marketing campaigns to support the Reinsurance Marketing objectives
• Partner with the Digital team to deliver best in class digital marketing highlighting Reinsurance’s expertise, product offering, thought leadership and customer commitment
• With support from our Brand and Digital team, proactively analyze key metrics to demonstrate success of campaigns and enhance marketing effectiveness.

External Communications

• Drive a high level of market visibility for Reinsurance through trade articles, panels, conference & digital platforms
• Act as an official spokesperson for AXA XL Reinsurance
• In conjunction with the Global Communications team, manage media relations for Reinsurance, including creating messages and talking points, fielding Press calls, initiating interviews with senior management, and organizing Press conferences and other media-related events.
• Write/edit copy and manage outsourced writers to produce thought leadership content, collateral material and/or web content.

Internal Communication

• Partnering with the internal communication team develop and execute the Internal Communication strategy that aligns to the key strategy goals 

Leadership

• Line manager responsibility for one team member

You will report to the Strategy Director, Reinsurance with second line to the Global Communications Director.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

• A solid background in commercial and/or B2B marketing and/or communications, with an ability to plan, collaborate and execute across disciplines including digital and content marketing, events and sponsorships, as well as driving social and traditional media and a sound understanding of internal communications
• Experience in the re/insurance industry or a broad knowledge of the industry including Trade bodies and Press & Media
• Professional stance with an ability to act as an adviser and a passion for delivering intelligent, creative work as a team, for measurable success; excellent written and oral communication abilities, including presentation skills
• Proven ability to work self-supported and in a collaborative team-oriented environment, without direct authority over all resources
• Effective organizational skills and proven ability to manage time-critical projects (planning, scheduling, monitoring), working with internal and external resources
• Bachelor’s Degree or MBA
