Deloitte's Valuations team is Australia's leading and fastest growing corporate valuations team. As a result of the team's recent growth, we are looking to expand further by hiring a Senior Consultant in Melbourne.

What will your typical day look like?

Your work will be varied and will offer an outstanding opportunity to develop your skills in corporate finance, value advisory and project management. You will be exposed to a range of clients, including multi-nationals, high-growth companies, financial institutions, private equity and legal firms.

More specifically, working in a supportive and collegial team, you will be involved in:

• In-depth business, economic, industry, capital markets and competitor research, data analysis and benchmarking

• The development of bespoke financial models to facilitate the valuation, including scenario, sensitivity, and statistical analysis

• The development, review and interpretation of analysis, along with developing and presenting clearly articulated and insightful conclusions in written and verbal form

• Working in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

• Developing and maintaining key relationships across our client base, with a focus on exceptional client service

• Supporting the delivery of high-profile projects

About the team

Our specialist Valuations team provides valuation opinions and advice in situations of strategic change and commercial importance. We assist clients in managing and reporting on value for a variety of purposes, including mergers & acquisitions, strategy selection, financial reporting, tax, and litigation. We value enterprises, shares and intangible assets such as technology and brands across all industries. We are a passionate and supportive team who work collaboratively across a diverse range of projects in an environment that fosters wellbeing and rewards success.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

• 2+ years of business and intangible asset valuation experience gained in a professional service, or a similar environment - this is provided as a guide only; please do not let this discourage you if you think you have something to add to our team

• In-depth understanding of generally accepted valuation methodologies: cost, market and income methodologies

• Competency in, or a keen interest in further developing, complex valuations, modelling or data analysis including the use of Visual Basic, SAS, Monte Carlo, etc.

• Sound commercial awareness, an interest in market conditions and how value is derived

• Experience with managing multiple projects and multiple team members

• An interest in pursuing business development activities internally and externally

• A proactive approach and an interest in delivering quality outcomes while working in a fast-paced environment
