Job Purpose

The role is to assist senior team members in the day to day business activities and contribute to a variety of tasks allowing a general introduction to the Research and Cash Equities business.

Key Responsibilities

As an Analyst in the EMEA Equiy Research business, you will be accountable to support a team head on all research tasks. Day to day tasks include

• Financial analysis and modelling of financial statements
• Monitoring of market trends, databases and industry developments
• Contribute to the idea generation
• Take part in the written product: from quick briefs on earning results or strategic events to more in-depth, original thought pieces
• Listen to clients and sales meetings 
• Produce marketing materials for clients
• Collaborate with the lead analyst and product management to generate an deliver a strong product pipeline 
• Help improve the team infrastructure and processes with new ideas and tools 
• Communicate industry and stock views to sales, trading, institutional investor clients, management teams and other important stakeholders.
• You'll have direct access to all Research stakeholders: internally with sales, traders, specialist sales and externally with corporates and clients.

Requirements

• Degree from a leading university with an excellent academic record; or equivalent work experience 
• Good understanding of financial markets
• Curious and eager to learn
• Confident verbal, written communication and networking skills 
• Proficient with MS Office tools, including Excel 
• Great organisational, multitasking and time management skills 
• Strong analysis and judgement 
• Meticulous accuracy with a keen eye for detail 
• Team player, proactive, independent, enthusiastic self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent spoken and written English. Additional languages are an advantage
