Want to contribute to the security of one of Belgium's largest banks?
As Product Owner (PO) for Key, Certificate and Secret Management (KCSM),will define and steer the roadmap of our cryptographic services. . Your mission:
Together with your squad and stakeholders, you will ensure that the bank's applications can securely manage certificates, cryptographic keys and secrets.
You will work closely with cybersecurity, IT and business stakeholders to ensure that our cryptographic services continue to meet the bank's needs.
In this role, you will help the bank maintain a reliable and compliant trust infrastructure while continuously adapting to new technologies, regulations and security challenges.
This position offers the opportunity to lead an experienced squad and contribute to security services that are used throughout BNP Paribas Fortis.
AND IN DETAIL
As the PO for KCSM, you’ll be the strategic animator of our cryptography domain—balancing technical foresight, business alignment, and team empowerment. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:
- Tech Radar & Future-Proofing: Monitor developments in cryptography and cybersecurity and assess their potential impact on the bank. You don't need to be the deepest technical expert, but you should be able to identify trends, understand their relevance, and translate them into priorities for the squad.
- Business & IT Synergy: Understand the bank’s evolving needs from digital transformation to regulatory shifts and ensure that the squad’s services continue to deliver proposition accordingly. You’ll be the voice of KCSM, aligning our work with the bank’s strategic priorities and the dynamic financial sector.
- Roadmap & Budget Ownership: Define short-, mid-, and long-term objectives for the squad, then present and defend them to stakeholders (Business, IT Management, CISO). You’ll secure the resources needed to execute budget, tools, and buy-in while keeping risks in check.
- Team & Competence Evolution: Partner with Chapter Leads to shape the squad’s skills matrix: sizing, training, and talent growth. Anticipate changes and ensure we’re always equipped to deliver.
- Agile Execution: Turn strategy into action via Quarterly Agile Planning (QAP). Break down objectives into user stories, prioritize with the squad, and refine backlogs all while collaborating closely with the Scrum Master to keep delivery smooth and adaptive.
- Risk-Aware Leadership: Ensure risks are identified, assessed and addressed in a timely manner. This includes security risks, operational challenges and regulatory requirements.
YOUR TALENTS AND COMPETENCES
You’re a strategic thinker with the ability for turning complexity into clarity and translate it into clear priorities and actionable decisions. Here’s what will set you up for success:
- IT Solid grounding in IT (security, infrastructure, or applications) with the ability to connect technical details to business objectives.
- Strategic Mindset: Proven track record in defining and driving domain-specific strategies, balancing innovation with pragmatism.
- Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge : Comfort navigating compliance landscapes (e.g., GDPR, PSD2, EBA guidelines) and translating them into operational practices.
- Risk Management: Identifying, assessing and managing risks in complex environments while balancing innovation, operational stability and regulatory requirements
- Languages: Fluent in English (our working language); sufficient proficiency French and Dutch to collaborate across teams.
- Toolkit: Technology & Tooling: Familiarity with the setup, maintenance and operational use of in-house developed solutions, complemented by experience with enterprise tools such as ServiceNow and project management platforms is a plus.
