It’s fast-paced and hands-on, with teams working together to ensure quality, efficiency and sustainability at every stage. From sourcing ingredients to getting products into customers’ hands, you’ll play a role in delivering the brands people know and love.

About this role

The Training and Capability Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, deployment and governance of training, capability and standard operating processes across Diageo Australia’s manufacturing operations.

The role ensures employees have the right knowledge, skills, SOPs, training records, systems access and learning support required to perform safely, consistently and in line with Diageo standards. It plays a key role in maintaining training compliance, improving capability, supporting Manufacturing Excellence, and embedding standard ways of working across operational teams.

The role works closely with Manufacturing Excellence, Operations, Governance, Quality, Safety, Engineering, HR, frontline leaders and Training & Systems stakeholders to ensure training materials, SOPs, skills matrices, records and learning systems are accurate, current, accessible and fit for purpose.

The role is critical to building a capable, compliant and continuously improving manufacturing workforce, supporting safer operations, stronger performance, faster speed to competency and sustained adoption of Diageo’s Manufacturing Excellence practices.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Maintain Training Governance, Records and Compliance

Own the coordination and maintenance of training records, SOP completion, training matrices, competency documentation and compliance evidence. Ensure training data is accurate, audit-ready and aligned to site, regulatory, quality, safety and governance requirements.

2. Support SOP Standardisation and Document Control

Create, update, standardise and maintain SOPs, work instructions, training materials and document management systems. Ensure SOPs include clear safety, quality, compliance and operational requirements and are reviewed, audited and updated at the required frequency.

3. Deliver Learning and Capability Building Activities

Deliver or coordinate training sessions, on-the-job learning, refresher training, compliance training and capability-building activities for operators, frontline leaders and operational teams. Support leaders to become effective trainers, coaches and mentors in their areas.

4. Enable Manufacturing Excellence and System Adoption

Support the deployment of MMS / Manufacturing Excellence practices by ensuring teams are trained in standards, routines, problem-solving tools, Tier governance, asset care, performance management and continuous improvement ways of working. Support adoption of relevant systems, SharePoint, digital training tools and operational platforms.

5. Improve Training Effectiveness and Capability Outcomes

Track training effectiveness using KPIs such as completion rates, time to competency, assessment outcomes, training compliance, SOP adherence and feedback from operations. Use data and stakeholder input to improve training content, delivery methods, document usability and capability plans.
