Job Summary

The role involves oversight on tax compliance and providing tax advisory for the Bank and Indian subsidiaries, including assessment and appeals; interacting with the tax authorities, statutory auditors, transfer pricing auditors, appellate authorities, senior tax counsels.  The candidate will work with and support other senior members of the tax team. 

The nature of the role involves specialist knowledge of tax, technical and analytical skills for representation before tax authorities, interaction with multiple stakeholders including external parties such as the auditors and tax/appellate authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversight and review of tax compliances for Indian entities involving finalisation of tax provision, advance tax computation and payments, filing of income-tax returns, tax audit report, transfer pricing reports, FATCA/ CRS returns etc. in line with the extant tax laws and statutory timelines.
• Review of tax accounting including Group reporting and deferred tax accounting.
• Assist in assessment proceedings -direct tax and TP and, in appellate proceedings before the Commissioner Appeals and Tribunal 
• Support in advance pricing agreement (APA) and mutual agreement procedures (MAP) proceedings.
• Assisting in providing tax advisory support and guidance to business teams and other internal teams 
• Advising business on tax implications of transactions, products, and new initiatives
• Ensuring audit / assessment ready documentation, positions and defence files are prepared upfront
• 2nd line responsibility for oversight on withholding taxes
• Utilize technology/AI for drafting responses, improving audit productivity and for other areas to create efficiencies

• Experienced tax professional with 6-8 years of working experience in banking and financial services tax domain
• Chartered Accountant
