Job Description – Lead, Business Intelligence & Analytics

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Lead – Business Intelligence & Analytics to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise reporting, analytics, and data integration solutions. This role will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex business requirements into actionable dashboards, reports, and data solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, ETL, Azure SQL, and Azure DevOps (ADO), combined with leadership skills such as stakeholder management, problem-solving, influencing without authority, and driving execution across cross-functional teams. The role requires ownership of end-to-end BI solution delivery, ensuring data-driven insights support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Business Engagement & Solution Design

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, operational challenges, and reporting requirements.
• Translate business needs into meaningful dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and self-service analytics solutions.
• Conduct workshops and requirements gathering sessions to define reporting and data visualization needs.
• Recommend analytics solutions and reporting strategies aligned with business priorities.
• Drive adoption of reporting and analytics capabilities across business functions.

Power BI Development & Data Visualization

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Build scalable semantic models and data models using Power BI best practices.
• Develop advanced calculations, KPIs, and business metrics using DAX.
• Utilize Power Query for data transformation, cleansing, and preparation.
• Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS) and data access controls.
• Optimize dashboard performance, usability, and user experience.
• Establish visualization standards and reporting governance practices.

Data Integration & Engineering

• Design, develop, and support complex ETL solutions using SSIS.
• Integrate data from multiple enterprise applications, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across reporting platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ETL, data integration, and reporting issues.
• Support data warehousing and analytics initiatives.

Reporting & Analytics Platforms

• Develop and maintain enterprise reports using SSRS.
• Design and support multidimensional and tabular models using SSAS.
• Create automated reporting frameworks to reduce manual effort.
• Manage data refresh schedules, report subscriptions, and operational support.

Database & Cloud Technologies

• Design and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects.
• Develop solutions leveraging Azure SQL Database.
• Monitor and improve reporting and database performance.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives related to analytics platforms.

Agile Delivery & DevOps

• Lead Agile delivery activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) for sprint management, user stories, testing, release management, and documentation.
• Ensure delivery milestones are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation and Agile best practices.

Leadership Responsibilities

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with business leaders, product owners, and technology teams.
• Clearly communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations.
• Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and business understanding.
• Manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations effectively.

Problem Solving & Incident Resolution

• Act as the escalation point for complex reporting, analytics, and data issues.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of data quality, performance, and reporting challenges.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Drive proactive resolution of recurring issues.

Execution Without Authority

• Lead cross-functional initiatives without direct management responsibility.
• Influence teams and stakeholders to achieve common objectives.
• Facilitate collaboration across business, application, infrastructure, and data teams.
• Drive accountability, ownership, and timely delivery of commitments.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to BI developers and analysts.
• Establish development standards, coding practices, and quality controls.
• Conduct peer reviews and ensure adherence to architectural standards.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related discipline.

Experience

• 6–10 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Reporting, or Data Engineering roles.
• 2+ years of experience leading BI initiatives, projects, or technical teams.
