The opportunity

Are you ready to shape your future with confidence? EY Global Delivery Services (GDS) is looking for a motivated Senior SOC Team Coordinator to join our Cyber Defense Center in Malaga, Spain. This senior position is intended for a candidate who can take ownership of operational coordination, provide guidance
within the SOC team, and support the effective delivery of cybersecurity services in a 24x7 operational environment for German-speaking and international clients.

As a member of our team in the EY GDS Spain office in Malaga, you’ll have a chance to extend your knowledge and experience by working on interesting projects with the newest technologies and approaches. You’ll support clients in choosing the most suitable business solution and take part in digital transformation.

Your key responsibilities
You will support the operational coordination of an international SOC environment, ensure disciplined communication across shifts and stakeholders, and help maintain consistent service quality across security operations activities.
· Coordinate daily activities within a 24x7 Security Operations Center.
· Monitor security incident handling, ticket queues, and escalation activities.
· Support the coordination of major incidents and critical security events.
· Ensure smooth shift handovers and clear operational communication.
· Support SOC analysts in day-to-day operational questions and prioritization.
· Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of SOC processes, playbooks, and standard operating procedures.
· Collaborate with customers, service managers, technical teams, and international cybersecurity stakeholders.
· Support reporting, quality assurance, audit-related activities, and service review preparation.

Skills and attributes for success
· Strong communication and coordination skills in an international delivery setup.
· Structured and proactive working style with the ability to keep oversight in operational and critical situations.
· Customer-focused mindset and ability to interact professionally with German-speaking stakeholders.
· Sound understanding of IT Security, SOC operations, and security incident management principles.
· Ability to work effectively within a 24x7 shift-based operating model.

To qualify for the role, you must have
· Fluent German language skills, both written and spoken, at C1 level or higher.
· Good English communication skills for collaboration in a global environment.
· Knowledge of IT Security and Cyber Security principles.
· Understanding of Security Incident Management processes.
· Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or IBM QRadar.
· Experience working with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or comparable platforms.
· Willingness to work in a 24x7 shift environment.

Ideally, you’ll also have
· Knowledge of Microsoft Defender XDR and Microsoft Sentinel.
· Awareness of cloud security concepts for Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
· Basic understanding of threat detection, incident response, ITIL, or security certifications such as SC-200 or CompTIA Security+.
