Title and Summary
Director, Specialist Sales - SIP - ICOverviewThe Director, Product Commercialization – Merchant Cloud is responsible for driving the commercialization, market adoption, and strategic growth of Mastercard's Merchant Cloud solutions across South Asia. The role will work closely with customers, fintechs, payment service providers, acquirers, merchants, and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop go-to-market strategies, influence product roadmaps, and deliver sustainable business growth.
This position requires a strategic, customer-centric, and commercially focused professional with deep payments expertise and a proven ability to lead complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders and markets.
Key Responsibilities
Product Commercialization & Growth
• Develop and execute commercialization strategies to drive adoption and revenue growth for Merchant Cloud solutions across South Asia.
• Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive differentiators to accelerate growth.
• Partner with Account Management and Business Development teams to originate, qualify, and advance strategic opportunities.
• Develop compelling customer value propositions, business cases, and go-to-market plans.
Customer & Partner Engagement
• Build and maintain senior-level relationships with acquirers, issuers, PSPs, fintechs, merchants, marketplaces, and ecosystem partners.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers on digital commerce, payment acceptance, and Merchant Cloud strategies.
• Lead customer workshops, solution discussions, and executive engagements to support business development and customer success.
• Represent Mastercard at customer forums, industry events, and strategic partner discussions.
Product & Market Strategy
• Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to inform product strategy and roadmap development.
• Identify emerging industry trends and translate market requirements into scalable solutions.
• Partner with global and regional product teams to launch and scale new capabilities.
• Support strategic initiatives that enhance Mastercard's position within the digital commerce ecosystem.
Cross-Functional Leadership
• Lead complex initiatives across Product, Sales, Franchise, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Risk, and Technology teams.
• Influence stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization to drive alignment and execution.
• Establish governance and operating rhythms to monitor progress against key objectives.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to a high-performance culture.
All About You
Experience
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in payments, fintech, acquiring, digital commerce, e-commerce, product management, strategy, consulting, or business development.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing commercialization or growth strategies.
• Experience working with financial institutions, PSPs, fintechs, merchants, PA's and payment ecosystem participants.
• Proven track record of managing strategic customer relationships and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
Knowledge & Skills
• Deep understanding of digital payments, acquiring, payment gateways, tokenization, acceptance solutions, and e-commerce ecosystems.
• Strong commercial and analytical acumen with the ability to develop business cases and growth strategies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong project leadership and execution capabilities across cross-functional teams.
• Experience operating effectively in matrixed, global organizations.
