About the role:
The role holder is responsible for defining and leading the delivery of UKLB’s Predictive Analytics initiative to support growth across all its lines of business by developing predictive models and harnessing data driven insights to meet our 2030 ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and deliver the Predictive Analytics roadmap to deliver data driven stakeholder value for UKLB and our clients.
- Establish and lead a mature Predictive Analytics function by upskilling individuals, championing innovative approaches to data analysis and interpretation, and driving the adoption of advanced modelling techniques to enhance decision-making and business outcomes.
- Provision of advanced pensioner demographics and mortality basis based on optimal exploitation of newly acquired data sets, enhancing accuracy and efficiency to expand the overall Longevity business portfolio.
- Support the development of Protection pricing bases by integrating predictive analytics and new data-driven techniques into modelling approaches, improving insight, and pricing robustness.
- Management of our internal data pools, ensuring they are effectively maintained and leveraged to deliver maximum analytical and business value.
- Identify potential solutions to support Protection Business Development on new propositions across underwriting, claims and distribution where Predictive Analytics can deliver new insights and solutions to reduce friction.
- Conceptualise and offer analytics products and services to internal and external stakeholders along the whole value chain by using statistical methods, for example, GLMs / GAMs / Machine Learning.
- Lead the creation and adoption of innovative analytical techniques, building tools and embedding them to strengthen data-driven decision making for Pricing purposes.
- Development of culture, policies and strategy relating to predictive analytics for Pricing and Terms of Trade review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and regional teams to promote data-driven decision-making culture, and provide training and support to employees on data analytics best practices.
- Establish and maintain robust data and analytics governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure quality, security, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Support the wider Basis Development team on their priorities and initiatives where required.

Key Skills & Experience:
- Several years of experience in key aspects of data analytics within Life and Health reinsurance, including actuarial concepts, risk assessment, and pricing methodologies.
- Deep expertise in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling using tools such as R, Python, SAS, or similar Experience.
- Effective written and spoken communication and senior stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to different audiences.
- Consulting or project management experience is a plus.
- Flexibility and bringing a curious and creative mindset.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Qualified Actuary, or significant actuarial experience

Regulatory & Conduct Requirements:
In addition to the responsibilities set out above, the role/function will also become responsible for:
- Ensuring compliance with Munich Re’s Code of Conduct and the FCA Conduct Rules
