Main missions

• Project Management: Manage the delivery of the customer’s solutions and services in accordance with defined specification, time, quality and cost criteria and as per contract
• Up sales contribution: Identify the customer’s extra needs during the project delivery or during the support & maintenance period. The aim is to increase the up sales of solutions and services on a set of assigned customers

Level of Expertise

• Leading large size projects in building a project organization which may divide into sub systems
• Managing long-term customer relationships in farming mode beyond project management
• Managing international projects with remote stakeholders
• Delegating technical follow-up within the project team
• Managing conflict situations with the customers according to project context and actors
• Driving up sales solutions proposals
• Contributing to commercial and contractual offers
• Performing knowledge sharing missions such as contributing to process and project management improvements in his/her organization and coaching junior project managers or newcomers

Specific responsibilities

• Implement the quality process according to in-house “Manage Project” and “Design Develop Qualify Solutions (DDQS)” processes
• Supporting pre-sales team to prepare quotations, schedules and feasibility study
• Write the project management plan
• Takeover projects from Offer Solution Engineering Manager (SEM) via Hand Over Review process (HOR)
• Manage subcontracting deliveries related to project delivery
• Capture, complete and validate the customers’ requirements in the Solution Requirements Specification
• Report project progress to the Thales management and to the customers’ project owner via reporting tools
• Monitor the project: cost, schedule, risks, actions and margin
• Manage project risks and impacts during the project
• Report major issues to management and recommend solutions to the customers’ project owner
• Request resources that are compliant with the project schedule and the customers’ requirements objectives
• Coordinate with the delivery center managers with regards to resources availability
• Working closely with technical project team to complete and validate the functional specifications with the customer
• Supervise and contribute to the technical aspect of the project (architecture,
• design, validation, integration)
• Ensure the configuration management and archives are set
• Lead the acceptance of a project and be responsible for the project delivery
• Manage Change Requests related to the customers or the project
• Identify lessons learned during the post-mortem meeting of each project and communicate them to the project team to capitalize new knowledge
• Handover the project to S&M team for Support and Maintenance phase
• Coordinate with the other Project Managers to create and develop knowledge sharing and promote reuse (best practices, reusable modules, etc.)
• Participate in the process improvement plan and best practice sharing based on project experiences

Up sales contribution

This part mainly consists of identifying and promoting new business opportunities with existing customers.

• Beyond Project Management, maintain a close technical relationship with selected accounts and focus on them. For these accounts/customers:
  • Keep regular contact with assigned customers and with Service Delivery Manager to identify up sales opportunities
• Identify the customers’ extra needs during the project delivery and during the support & maintenance period to increase solutions and services up sales
  • Manage change requests/ upsells of Solutions and Services for established customers according to Corporate Authority Limits and the Business Unit bid management process
• With regards to customers under your responsibility, define the quotation, schedule and feasibility study for a project during presales on a case per case basis
  • Inform the account manager when making an offer to his assigned set of customers
• Manage customers’ needs and requirements based on customer knowledge and Thales offer knowledge

Qualifications

• Engineering or Master’s degree in Computer Science
• 2 years of experience as a development or production engineer
• 3 to 5 years of experience in project management (specification, design and team)
