Digital Product Attorney – Connected Commerce, Payments, and Digital Legal team

We’re looking for a new member to join our team, where you’ll focus on supporting innovative approaches to digital products, customer identity and authentication, and the overall digital customer experience, including the prevention of fraud and scams. You’ll provide trusted advice and legal support for new product developments and enhancements, keep informed of and advise our clients on emerging and changes in laws and regulations, provide, data use guidance, and more. You’ll develop and further your expertise in laws surrounding digital products, digital identification and credentials, and authentication standards. And you’ll do so while working with extremely smart, collegial, and fun business partners and legal colleagues.
Job Summary
As an attorney on our Digital Products & Experience Legal Team for JPMorganChase’s Consumer & Community Bank (CCB), you will be able to provide legal support including direct product counsel, advice on strategy and business decisions, conduct content reviews for customer-facing material, provide guidance on data use and emerging laws and regulations, and work to revise as needed our customer agreements and terms and conditions. You’ll join a team of lawyers and legal professionals who combine deep product expertise with knowledge of emerging and wholly new technologies and their use for our customers’ benefit, helping to drive fast, safe, innovation. The position will be located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Job Responsibilities
Provide practical, risk-based legal guidance for digital products and services; identification; customer authentication; and fraud and scam prevention.
Advise on product development, strategy, current and changing legal frameworks, and risk decisions for new and evolving use cases and capabilities.
Work with senior counsel and business teams on discrete, but expanding, areas across CCB’s range of digital products, including advice on pertinent regulations, implementation strategy, contracts, and customer communications.
Support initiatives involving emerging technologies and partner-enabled capabilities, including governance approvals and issue escalation.
Review customer-facing content to ensure clear, accurate, and compliant disclosures and communications.
Draft and update agreements, disclosures, and terms and conditions to support product development and ongoing operations.
Monitor laws, regulations, enforcement trends, and industry standards impacting covered products and services.
Identify legal and regulatory issues early and escalate material risks with clear options and recommendations.
Summarize regulatory developments for stakeholders and translate requirements into actionable product and process changes.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of applicable policies, procedures, and controls.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Lawyer qualified to practice in the location where the position is based.
At least 3 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
Background in financial services regulation or supporting another highly regulated business.
Proactive problem-solver who is not afraid to explore new technologies and can demonstrate a thoughtful approach to testing and incorporating new tools into a professional environment.
Excellent legal research and writing skills, with the ability to summarize legal and regulatory developments clearly and concisely for distribution and oral presentation to a non-legal audience.
Ability to develop strong relationships with the business, corporate functions, and fellow legal and support professionals.
A true self-starter with the ability to work independently to manage competing and changing priorities and coordinate among a wide range of internal stakeholders.
Comfort in a rapidly changing business environment, and ease in switching subject matters throughout the day.
Detail oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment.
