Role
Based in Singapore, this is a hybrid role where the successful candidate will split their responsibilities between Regulatory Reporting for the Singapore entity and supporting the Hong Kong-based Product Control team.
The role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to both regulatory reporting and product control within a global investment bank. In supporting the Product Control function, the candidate will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of businesses, including Equities, Fixed Income and Investment Banking.
This position is particularly suited to candidates with Regulatory Reporting experience who are looking to broaden their skill set, gain exposure to front-office facing finance functions, and develop a wider understanding of investment banking products and businesses.
Team
The candidate will report to both the Head of Asia Corporate Control and Head of Asia Product Control. For Corporate Control, the wider team consists of staff based in Tokyo, Sydney, Mumbai, Singapore, and Hong Kong. For Product Control, which is only based in Hong Kong for Asia, the team covers a wide spectrum of trading businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Product Control responsibilities include:
- P&L recognition and reporting of IB deals
- Project work to support ongoing efforts to streamline processes, improve controls, and adopt new technologies
- P&L control and reporting for other business divisions
- Note that responsibilities may evolve as the PC team expands in Hong Kong
Corporate Control responsibilities include:
- Understand the regulatory framework and ensure timely submission of regulatory reports to SGX/MAS.
- Prepare and monitor daily regulatory capital.
- Strong understanding of trade life cycle and settlement process.
- Timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, and USGAAP
Requirements
- 3+ years Regulatory Reporting experience
- Qualified Accountant preferred but not essential
- Strong Excel knowledge
- Strong analytical skills to rationalize existing processes
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships across country borders
