Business Solution Manager (Investment Operations - 1 year contract)

Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Custodian Selection & Setup: Drive the process for selecting appropriate custodians for the new business, including managing RFPs, evaluating proposals, and overseeing the successful setup of all necessary custody accounts and related operational links.• OTC Derivatives Operational Readiness: Oversee and support the negotiation process for ISDA and CSA documentation with counterparty banks. Critically, design, coordinate, and execute testing of the operational setup for clearing, settling, and reporting on Over-the-Counter (OTC) derivative transactions.• Repo & Securities Lending Operational Readiness: Oversee and support the negotiation process for GMRA and GMSLA documentation with counterparty banks. Work closely with internal teams and counterparties to ensure operational workflows are established and tested for repurchase agreements and securities lending activities.• IT Data & Workflow Design: Collaborate with IT and investment teams to design and implement robust data flows and operational workflows across the investment function, ensuring seamless integration between front office, middle office, back office, and accounting systems.• Project Management Support: Provide strong project management support, including developing project plans, tracking progress, identifying and mitigating risks, managing stakeholders, and providing regular updates to senior management.• UAT Coordination & Execution: Plan, coordinate, and actively participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all implemented systems and processes, ensuring they meet business requirements and operational readiness standards. Document test results, track defects, and work with IT and vendors to ensure timely resolution.• Requirements Gathering: Elicit, document, and manage detailed business requirements related to investment operations processes and system functionalities.• Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Investments, Actuarial, Finance, IT, Legal, Compliance) and external parties (custodians, counterparty banks, system vendors).• Process Documentation: Develop comprehensive process documentation, desk procedures, and training materials for new operational workflows.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Project Manager within the financial services industry, preferably in insurance or asset management.• Solid understanding of investment operations, including trade lifecycle, settlement, reconciliation, and corporate actions.• Specific experience with or strong understanding of the operational aspects of OTC derivatives (ISDA/CSA), Repo (GMRA), and Securities Lending (GMSLA).• Experience working on implementation projects involving complex financial instruments.• Demonstrated ability to design and document data flows and operational workflows.• Experience in planning and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT).• Strong project management skills, including planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication.• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.• Strong English communication (written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
