As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. Job responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Create and maintain clean, efficient, and reusable codebase.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure robustness and reliability of applications.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring smooth application functionality.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide progress updates.
- Mentor junior developers, providing guidance on best practices and code reviews.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in Web React/javascript UI development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes and workflows.
- Sets and scales operating practices for enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation across multiple teams to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational outcomes; establishes measurable expectations (e.g., throughput, defect reduction, reliability) and ensures consistent validation, security, resiliency, and reuse of proven patterns.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to drive efficiency and support capacity unlock initiatives across teams, prioritizing reuse of existing firm technology assets.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Proficiency in React framework, Javascript/Typescript
- Building applications using React Js in TypeScript or JavaScript
- Understanding of REST APIs and GraphQL
- Ability to write testable, clean JavaScript code, React Story book, Design patterns
- Comfortable working with projects partially or fully using TypeScript/Javascript
- Using latest React features such as Suspense and Hooks
- End to end testing applications with Playwright
- Extensive experience in modern web development, including responsive design and performance optimization, expertise in Javascript and React application architecture.
- Hands-on experience with design systems, component libraries, and implementing consistent UI/UX across large-scale applications
- Expertise in CI/CD pipeline
- Experience leading multi-team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools, including defining governance/ways of working (human-in-the-loop validation, quality gates), measuring outcomes, and ensuring secure handling of sensitive inputs/outputs.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, resiliency/security implications, and control expectations; ability to coach managers/leads and influence leaders on safe scaling patterns.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on JavaScript concepts and proficient advanced experience
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and ES6+ syntax
- Familiarity with writing unit tests
- Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment within a geographically distributed teams
