We are searching for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax compliance and adherence to accounting standards in a fast-paced FMCG environment. This role focuses on core accounting functions, statutory filings and audit support. You will be working closely with various departments and Shared Service team to ensure smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis on sales, distribution and promotional spending.
- Support Accounting Manager/Senior Accounting Manager in queries on group reporting and consolidation.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
Taxation & Compliance
- Preparation of quarterly GST filings and ensure compliance with IRAS requirements
- Support corporate income tax computations and liaise with local tax team and external tax advisors
- Ensure full compliance with local statutory and audit readiness.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate & support external and internal audits.
- Support queries from statutory auditors in relation to preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities & risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations.
Stakeholder Management & Support
- Liaise with cross-functional teams and business units on financial matters
- Support finance projects and digital transformation initiatives
- Mentor and guide junior accountants or assistants
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
- Prior experience in a multinational company or FMCG industry is advantageous.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP), GST regulations and corporate tax.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
