Within the R&I Advanced Research department, the New Frontiers of Science team is shaping the future of beauty through cutting-edge science and holistic innovation. This role drives our nutricosmetics and beauty supplements strategy, bridging advanced nutritional science, microbiota research, and skin/hair biology (including the gut-skin/hair axis) to create breakthrough oral and topical solutions that deliver unprecedented performance leaps for consumers.

Missions

1. Scientific Foundation – Innovation Strategy – Vision

• Identify untapped market opportunities by bridging consumer beauty needs with scientific advancements in nutrition to establish the nutricosmetic active ingredient innovation strategy, capitalizing on all internal and external ecosystems; aligned with the R&I and Group strategy.
• Establish scientific rationales for both topical and oral administration pathways, as well as their synergies, to meet brand needs and achieve an unprecedented leap in skin/hair benefit performance.
• Conduct prospective intelligence (horizon scanning) on emerging ingredients, dosages, delivery formats (gummies, powders, capsules, shots), and regulatory evolutions.

2. Screening, Technological Acceleration, Efficacy Demonstration, and Market Transformation Leadership

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams involved in scouting, design, digital screening (predictive tools, AI) coupled with an in vitro / in vivo biological/clinical screening architecture to identify the most relevant and market-ready solutions (ingredients, bacterial strains, plant extracts, synergies while integrating regulatory constraints, costs, timelines, etc.).
• Demonstrate the scientific added value of proposed beauty supplements at the molecular and cellular levels, including the GUT-SKIN axis, to support innovative and high-performance "Beauty Supplements" concepts with perceptible skin/hair benefits for consumers.
• Drive an ambitious IP strategy to preempt high-value-added technologies.
• Demonstrate the performance leap and efficacy of oral formulas (complementing topical formulas) as perceived by consumers.
• Propose the implementation of new ways of innovating, including the activation of all internal and external ecosystems, to feed a short- and long-term innovation pipeline aligned with business needs and market realities.
• Guarantee the anticipation and securing of key transformation milestones, including industrialization and the economic equation tied to efficacy to facilitate time-to-market.
• Ensure global regulatory compliance, country-specific deployment claims, and the robustness of safety dossiers for the proposed ingredients, strains, and extracts.

What we are Looking For :

• Dual Scientific and Business Background linked to the dietary supplements market
  • PhD or Scientific Master's degree in Nutrition/Health (including Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology) complemented by training or significant experience in Business / Innovation Management.
• Experience
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in the dietary supplements industry in an interface role (applied R&D, Scientific Support to Brands, Scientific Innovation Project Manager).
  • Proven successful experience in end-to-end dietary supplement launches on the market is essential.
  • Confirmed experience in alliance management and external partnership management.
• Key Skills
  • Deep and proven knowledge of the complete end-to-end process from idea to market for dietary supplements across all dimensions (scientific rationale, ingredient novelty, regulatory, IP, scale-up, claims, costs, key partners, etc.).
  • Excellent scientific culture in microbiota, nutrition, skin biology, and hair biology.
  • Key scientific knowledge on ingredients/dietary supplements and the gut microbiome (knowledge of the GUT-SKIN/HAIR axis is essential).
  • Perfect understanding of the market state-of-the-art (players and ingredients). High sensitivity to performance leaps driven by Science.
  • Real-time awareness of the latest ingredient innovations in the dietary supplement market. Ability to make scientifically relevant proposals in an agile mode for rapid market launch.
  • Complete mastery of the complexity of regulatory constraints, safety, and permissible claims depending on the nature of the ingredients and countries concerned in the dietary supplements field.
  • Total mastery of collaboration models between large international groups and strong persuasive power in bilateral strategic discussions.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts for non-scientific stakeholders. Ease in communicating challenges clearly and concisely for rapid strategic decision-making.
  • Strong business and IP orientation, with a keen sense for consumer claims.
  • Acute sense of multidisciplinary interaction and inspirational leadership to mobilize matrixed teams. Ease in managing the complexity of multipolar organizations in an international context.
  • Dual capability to manage technical details in parallel when interacting with experts while maintaining a strategic vision to communicate to Top Management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Fluent English is essential.
