Your role
Mission
To lead the Business Risk and Compliance Management Team (“BRCM”), executing strategic initiatives while bridging operational execution with independent risk and compliance oversight.
To bridge the gap between business and independent risk management through advisory and day-to-day controls.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Lead and supervise the operations of the BRCM team, ensuring an effective first line of defense control environment for Wealth Management.
- Support Management in fostering a strong risk awareness culture.
- Represent BRCM in governance committees for local and global initiatives and projects.
- Provide regular reports to Senior Management and Group PWM Risk and Compliance Management on BRCM activities and risk-related matters.
Oversight and Operational Excellence
- Monitor both anti-money laundering and non-anti-money laundering risks, advising Senior Management on enhancements to risk controls.
- Offer guidance to the front office on matters related to anti-money laundering and other compliance issues.
- Identify all types of risks, including compliance risks; design frameworks and implement mitigation measures for Wealth Management.
- Oversee and continuously improve the efficiency of the BRCM team across all business risk and compliance processes.
- Supervise the resolution of relevant audits and inspections.
- Provide support and feedback on New Product Services (NPS), ensuring that all business risk and compliance considerations are appropriately addressed.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Strategic Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain proactive, constructive relationships with business and functional stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business lines and support function leadership to ensure risk considerations are integrated into business strategy and execution.
Your profile
- University degree.
- Professional certifications in Financial Crime or AML are advantageous.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in anti-money laundering and non-anti-money laundering matters, preferably within Wealth Management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently conduct in-depth analysis on compliance matters.
- Self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Well-organized and detail oriented.
- Effective team leader and player.
- Good presentation skills.
- Proficient in common IT applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good working knowledge of both English and Chinese.
