Universal Distribution Manager – Product MarketingSummary
The Universal Distribution Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and accelerating the medium- to long-term growth strategy of Amadeus Universal Distribution. Positioned at the intersection of strategy, product, and business model innovation, this role partners closely with senior stakeholders and has direct exposure to key decision-makers across Travel Distribution.
The role drives strategic analyses and business model definition for Universal Distribution initiatives. It is responsible for identifying strategic opportunities and risks, challenging assumptions, and translating complex Universal Distribution initiatives into clear, actionable recommendations that influence executive decision-making.
Working in a highly collaborative and matrixed environment, the Universal Distribution Manager influences cross-functional decisions and partners with Product Management, Strategy, Commercial Finance, Engineering, and Commercial teams to shape the future of travel distribution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Analysis
Define and deliver high-impact strategic studies on the most critical and complex topics shaping the future of Universal Distribution and Travel Distribution more broadly.
Shape and frame the key strategic questions for Travel Distribution leadership — including business model evolution, ecosystem dynamics, and platform economics.
Enable evidence-based decisions, including prioritization of initiatives, investment sequencing, and identification of “no-regret” moves versus optional bets.
Represent Product Marketing and Universal Distribution in internal strategy forums and executive checkpoints, ensuring alignment and consistency of narrative.
2. Universal Distribution Business Model
Own the definition, evolution and recommendation of the Universal Distribution business model, influencing strategic decisions across Travel Distribution.
Define and structure key business models and transition paths, in close collaboration with Product, Strategy, and Commercial, and Finance teams.
3. Universal Distribution Business Case, Pricing & Monetization
Lead the development, consolidation, and validation of Universal Distribution business cases.
Ensure assumptions, risks, market dynamics, and value drivers are robust, clearly articulated, and supported by data.
Recommend pricing and monetization strategies and drive executive alignment on commercial approaches for Universal Distribution initiatives.
4. Cross–Business Unit Collaboration & Ecosystem Alignment
Work closely with other Amadeus Business Units (e.g., Outpayce, Hotel, Ailine IT and other domains) on Universal Distribution initiatives that span multiple portfolios.
Ensure alignment of strategy, value proposition, and business models across the Business Units involved.
Act as a bridge between Travel Distribution and adjacent Amadeus businesses, contributing to integrated, end-to-end Universal Distribution solutions.
About the Ideal Candidate
University degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or Information Technology; a Master of Business Administration or equivalent is an advantage.
5–7+ years of relevant experience in product marketing, strategy consulting, or corporate strategy roles.
Experience working in global, matrix organizations and managing complex initiatives on a project basis.
Strong exposure to technology-driven, platform, marketplace, or two-sided business models.
Experience in the travel industry and/or technology sector is highly desirable.

Clear communication and storytelling skills, able to translate complex analysis into executive-ready insights.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and build alignment across diverse teams.
Demonstrated ability to independently drive ambiguous and high-impact strategic topics, influencing outcomes without direct authority and operating with limited supervision.
