Main objectives of the position
Under the direct supervision of the Planning Superintendent, the Planner - Engineering is responsible for planning and ensuring the timely maintenance of all mine facilities and equipment, thereby maximizing equipment reliability, through effective maintenance planning.
Minimum qualification
- University degree or equivalent (Engineering, technical sciences, etc.).
- AMT Course Certificate (internal).
Required Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance planning environment.
- Mining experience is preferred.
Required skills
- Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Visio).
- In-depth knowledge and experience with AMT transactions.
- Understanding of the interfaces of the MUMI parts/materials ERP system with AMT.
- Understanding of maintenance planning processes and procedures for fixed installations or mobile fleets (depending on the area he/she serves).
- Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Time management skills.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Good command of English and exceptional intercultural and interhierarchical communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the full scope of maintenance work required to perform the relevant activities (repair, prevention, prediction, etc.) on electrical installations.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities (planned and unplanned) are fully specified and recorded in the AMT.
- Develop standard cost and time estimates for types of maintenance work
- Evaluate the differences between actual work performance and work instruction estimates and use this information to improve the quality and accuracy of planned work orders.
- Manage the age of the work order book, by measuring the length of time that a warrant officer with a priority rating has been in the order book and has not yet been scheduled for execution; Adjust priorities as needed.
- Run daily AMT reports to identify work orders that require additional planning or resources.
- Liaise with section supervisors to ensure that planned work activities are accurately reflected in the AMT, i.e., the specific actions required to complete the task effectively.
- Ensure that any changes in the AMR are recorded and approved by the appropriate manager
- Plan and schedule stops in advance (major and minor).
- Analyze the causes of deviations from the original schedules and plans (if applicable) and present the investigation report and recommendations to the line manager (senior planner). Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.
