Position Summary
Together with six existing Valuation Senior Analysts/Associates and the Valuation Manager, you will support the execution of Carlyle AlpInvest’s monthly valuation processes across its private markets platform, including co-investments, portfolio finance, and fund interests. The role is highly operational and data-driven, with a strong focus on the timely and accurate execution of recurring valuation procedures, controls and reporting deliverables.
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of valuation models, systems and processes, including maintaining valuation inputs, validating outputs and monitoring the integrity of valuation data across multiple platforms and stakeholders. The role requires a high level of accuracy, organization and consistency, particularly during monthly valuation cycles and reporting periods.
A key focus of the role is working with large and complex datasets and helping improve valuation workflows, reporting and controls through technology, automation and AI-enabled solutions. The team is actively focused on enhancing the scalability and efficiency of recurring valuation processes through workflow optimization, improved data management and the practical application of emerging technologies. The successful candidate should enjoy working with data, be comfortable operating in a structured and deadline-driven environment and have an interest in process improvement and operational efficiency.
You will report to the Senior Valuation Team member and work closely with Investment Accounting, Strategy & Portfolio Management, Investment Professionals, Assurance teams within Carlyle AlpInvest, external auditors and external valuation specialists, where required.* Monthly Valuation Process (50% of time)
* Support the execution of co-investment, portfolio finance and fund valuation processes across Carlyle AlpInvest’s private markets platform
* Perform recurring controls, checks and validation procedures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of valuation inputs and outputs
* Maintain and update valuation data used within internal valuation models, reporting tools and downstream systems
* Monitor portfolio company developments, market data and other relevant valuation inputs to support valuation procedures
* Prepare recurring valuation deliverables and reporting materials for valuation committee and management
* Support the ongoing refinement, standardization and documentation of valuation workflows and controls
* Valuation Data, Models and Systems (30% of time)
* Support the day-to-day operation of valuation models, databases and related reporting systems
* Perform quality control checks on input and output valuation data across valuation and accounting data flows
* Maintain and improve existing valuation tools, templates and data processes
* Assist with the reconciliation, validation and investigation of valuation-related data issues
* Work closely with Technology, Investment Accounting, Strategy & Portfolio Management, and other stakeholders to improve data quality and operational efficiency
* Contribute to automation, AI and process improvement initiatives across the valuation function
* Reporting and Analytics (20% of time)
* Maintain valuation databases and assist with downstream reporting processes
* Analyze valuation data and identify inconsistencies, trends or potential issues warranting further review
* Prepare ad hoc valuation analyses to support internal & external stakeholders
* Assist with internal and external information requests, including auditor and valuation specialist support
* Help develop reporting enhancements and data-driven insights for internal stakeholdersEducation & Certificates
* Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Econometrics, or a related quantitative discipline
* CFA or progress towards CFA is a plus
Professional Experience
* 1 year of relevant experience in operations, valuation, fund accounting, data analysis or financial services environments
* Experience working with large datasets, recurring processes and deadline-driven deliverables preferred
* Familiarity with valuation concepts, financial instruments or private markets is a plus
* Experience working with database systems and data validation processes preferred
Competencies & Attributes

* Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with data
* Familiarity with SQL, R or other data/programming tools is preferred

The compensation range for this role is specific to Amsterdam and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
