Application Specialist, BDMC Solutions will manage and support the Firm’s Business Development and Marketing Communications (BDMC) technology platforms to enable effective marketing, client development, and business growth initiatives. This role is responsible for the technical administration, enhancement, and integration of key platforms that support marketing automation, event management, digital publishing, and related business processes. The individual serves as a strategic technical partner, connecting customer needs, operational requirements, and technology capabilities.
Main responsibilities:
- Provide technical support, platform administration, and continuous improvement for BDMC technology platforms, including CRM, e-marketing, event management, pitching and proposal tools, digital publishing, professional networking, and related solutions/tools. Ensure these platforms remain reliable, user-friendly, and aligned with business needs while supporting marketing, client development, and business growth through effective system support, process improvement, and operational excellence.
- Act as First Responder to escalated incidents that require deeper technical and functional analysis, helping to diagnose, and coordinate resolution.
- Analyse and resolve application and system issues reported by business professionals by identifying root causes, documenting findings, and providing clear, practical recommendations. Support timely issue resolution, reduce recurring incidents, and help maintain stable, reliable platforms for business operations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical and functional documentation for assigned solutions, including knowledge base articles, training materials, quick reference guides, and related support resources for the Global Help Desk, business teams, and other stakeholders.
- Plan and prepare timely Request for Change (RFC) submissions to the Technical Change Management Team in compliance with the Firm’s ITSM process.
- Maintain effective relationships with vendors within the assigned product portfolio and support vendor coordination for operational, enhancemet, and lifecycle management activities.
- Ensure assigned solutions and related portfolio activities comply with the Firm’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies and Technology processes. Support vendor security assessments and recertification activities by coordinating required submissions, including security forms, risk exceptions, and related documentation, to help maintain full compliance with Firm security requirements.
- Support end-to-end testing for system features and enhancements by developing test plans, documenting findings, and providing recommendations for product and process improvements.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance BDMC capabilities
Skills and experience:
- University or College graduate with diploma/degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
- General experience supporting and managing BDMC technology platforms within a legal environment is ideal.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and its advanced functionality is required, along with general understanding of how to write queries for SQL databases and use SQL reporting tools to support basic data extraction, reporting, and analysis activities.
- Experience creating and using scripts or other development tools to automate technical tasks is preferred. This includes practical knowledge of tools such as Power BI, Integration Builder, and PowerShell to improve operational efficiency and support repeatable technical processes.
- Demonstrate practical experience using AI tools, for example Microsoft Copilot, and has a general understanding of how to create agents that support and improve business processes. Applies creative problem-solving to assess workflows, identify automation opportunities, and recommend practical AI-enabled solutions that improve efficiency, consistency, and user experience.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team to support application delivery.
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities concurrently while maintaining focus on service quality.
- Capacity to learn new skills in a short period of time.
- Very adaptable, highly organized, and attentive to details and accuracy
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work outside standard hours when required. This may include shift coverage, participation in a light on-call rotation as needed, and occasional weekend work to support project delivery, system maintenance, issue resolution, or other operational priorities.
