Context & Environment

• The competitive environment: The business operates in a constantly evolving and competitive environment with both local and international competitors. Constant technical evolutions require active cost efficiency and performance improvement processes in order to maintain local competitivity
• The regulatory environment: the country has its own regulatory framework and context in which the business must operate. Regulation for on-site / self-consumption – export to the grid / off-site / BESS is constantly evolving which requires the adaptation of the business model on a regular basis.
• The HSE and compliance environment: the highest Company standards of HSE and compliance must be locally implemented. This can often involve implementing additional processes beyond the market standards in the region.

• Fast changing environment in a very competitive and complex market.
• Must act in accordance with local legislation, compliance, company ethics and values, as well as strong HSE standards. 
• Must acquire a good knowledge of TotalEnergies’ Distributed Generation offerings. 
• Requires an ability to deal with a range of organizations from privately owned smaller enterprise to large multi-national corporates. 
• Develop an understanding of both local and regional competitors. Constantly changing technical evolutions, implement continuous performance improvement processes to constantly remain competitive in the moving business landscape. 
• Strategies independent of prices have to be constantly developed to deliver while protecting value. 
• Required to stay nimble and adapt to the evolving regulatory environment.
• Operate in partnership with the Group affiliates to ensure consistent approach to customers, OneTotal structures used, communications coordinated, opportunities within the group leveraged.

Activities

The Sales Engineer Role would require he/she to: 

• To implement the Distributed Generation APAC business model, effect sales contracts, in accordance with the agreed JV model and ensure that all activities are compliant with TRDG HSE and compliance standards.
• Develop accurate segmentation and targeting of the market including realizing market opportunities, establishing balance of pipeline development and revenue generation. 
• Identify and target potential customers and partnerships; to build relationship and originate opportunities for the DG Business.
• Conduct Site assessments and complete accurate site assessment reports, contributing to the PV System design in alignment with local regulations, TTE Technical specifications while always holding strong the TotalEnergies HSE mindset. 
• Educate customers on the benefits of solar energy and the specifics of their proposed systems.
• Present and explain solar solutions to potential customers, addressing technical questions and concerns.
• Meet with clients to present and negotiate high-value contracts and bring them to a close. 
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and follow-up.
• Coordinate with internal teams, local regulatory bodies, and other third-parties to ensure smooth project execution.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations.
• Document customer activities and communication, maintain entries in CRM (Salesforce) and other sales management tools.
• Coordinate with pre-sales teams, project teams, technical teams, post sales teams to effectively implement customer objectives and project plans. 
• Grow the C&I portfolio; including but not limited to marketing, origination, sales and service. - Plan, Report and achieving the set KPIs.

Candidate Profile

• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in a commercial/industrial environment. 

• Working experience in Singapore electrical norms, renewable energy regulations, and construction codes desired.
• Degree in Engineering or related professional qualifications considered a plus. 
• Strong business acumen and understanding of business operations. 
• Experience in renewable energy; in particular solar and energy industry is an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of the competitive landscape, experience in positioning sophisticated solutions, structuring pricing proposals.  
• Proven track record in building, negotiating, and executing contracts contributing to positive business growth.
• Excellent presentation and communications skills with demonstrated ability to influence. 
• Proven ability to work independently and effectively.
