At Eni, we are looking for a Certification Expert to join Eni Natural Energies Côte d'Ivoire in Abidjan. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance across the entire value chain with the requirements of biofuel sustainability certification schemes (ISCC EU and INS).
Main responsibilities:
- Define and implement an action plan to achieve certification of biofuel feedstock in accordance with European biofuel regulations and the ISCC EU certification scheme
- Provide support to stakeholders to ensure compliance with certification criteria and requirements for biofuel feedstock production in line with European certification schemes
- Verify producers’ compliance with certification criteria
- Organise and manage audits required for certification
- Ensure supply chain traceability in accordance with project and certification requirements
- Ensure that certification supporting documents are correctly prepared, maintained, and archived (e.g. receipts of payment, weighbridge tickets, and transport documents)
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date product inventory (mass balance) of incoming and outgoing products in Excel
- Support training initiatives on sustainability tools at community level
- Maintain an up-to-date product inventory (mass balance) of certified incoming and outgoing products in line with regulatory requirements
- Verify that ENE Côte d’Ivoire’s logistics team correctly completes and archives all required documentation, including receipts of payment, weighbridge tickets, transport documents, and Sustainability Declarations
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, particularly with local communities
- Support general management activities as required
- Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience in sustainability certification and/or quality management systems and/or ISO standards (e.g. ISCC, Ecocert, GlobalG.A.P., Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance)
- Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related field
- Relevant experience in a similar role or field
- Experience in agricultural and agroforestry development projects, including the analysis of existing supply chains and the production potential of agricultural biomass for industrial use
- Experience in large-scale agricultural and agroforestry production systems
- Knowledge of agricultural and agroforestry production systems, including contract farming mechanisms and/or agro-industrial initiatives
- Knowledge of certification processes related to production traceability, sustainability, and the calculation of GHG emissions
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams and coordinate activities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- An established network of relevant contacts to support job performance
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Valid driving licence (Category B) and confidence in driving both manual and automatic vehicles in urban and rural environments
- Fluency in both English and French
