About the role:
KATE is evolving from a traditional conversational platform into a next-generation AI ecosystem powered by Large Language Models, intelligent agents, and cloud-native technologies. As part of this transformation, we are building the frameworks, services, and platform capabilities that enable teams across KBC to create innovative AI-driven solutions.
In this role, you will help develop the reusable building blocks behind KATE, supporting multiple teams in delivering new use cases and digital experiences. You will contribute to the transition from the current Rasa-based ecosystem towards a modern, AWS-based AI framework focused on intelligent orchestration, integrations, and agentic capabilities.

Main responsibilities:
- Developing reusable platform capabilities and building blocks used by multiple KATE use-case teams.
- Designing and implementing new framework components that support the future evolution of the KATE platform.
- Building scalable backend services and APIs.
- Collaborating closely with engineering teams, architects, product owners, and other stakeholders across the organization.
- Driving technical improvements, code quality, performance optimization, and platform reliability.
- Troubleshooting complex technical challenges and supporting platform adoption across teams.
- Contributing to cloud-native solutions deployed on AWS.
- Participating in architecture discussions and helping shape the future technical direction of the platform.
What will help you succeed:
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Strong expertise in either Java/Spring Boot or Python.
- Experience building scalable APIs, microservices, and backend services.
- Knowledge of AWS, cloud-native architectures, Git, and CI/CD.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
