Job Description*
MF-Storage Engineering
This role is required to ensure continued support for Mainframe Storage Infrastructure playing a foundational role in the firm’s resiliency posture. We need to augment our resource capabilities and to continue providing the capabilities that will shorten lead times for environment builds, enable application teams to move faster without compromising controls, support parallel development, testing, and production workloads as well as execute.
Metro Mirror / Global Mirror / Global Copy, HyperSwap and continuous availability, Safeguarded Copy / immutable backups, Cyber-resilient recovery architectures and regular DR testing and automation validation. Delay in filling this role would result in the team being unable to complete BAU risk routines on time, meet targets for audit/regulatory requests, build/support new controls, further automate/enhance existing controls and better manage the storage and retrieval of control evidence. If filling this role is delayed, there is also risk of delay in remediating network and data protection Security Baseline non-compliance, deploying key initiatives / emerging technology modernization efforts as well as meeting target dates on various projects & initiatives in progress.
Responsibilities*
Responsible for all facets of Enterprise Mainframe Storage Management across a large z/OS environment. Responsibilities include ACS code maintenance and updates, general SMS support, disaster recovery support, DASD configuration management, IBM VTS administration and configuration, CA1 administration and on-call support.
7–12+ years of hands‑on experience supporting enterprise mainframe storage environments
Proven experience in 24x7, mission‑critical, highly regulated production environments
Experience operating at scale (multi‑data center, multi‑region, global firms). Strong understanding of:
- z/OS I/O architecture (CHPIDs, control units, paths)
- FICON protocols and multi‑pathing concepts
- I/O performance diagnostics (RMF, SMF, DCOLLECT)
- Experience working closely with z/OS systems programmers.
