Job Description
Team Description:
The Business and Strategy Analytics (BSA) team is part of the Intelligence and Data Solutions function, partnering with the Asia Pacific Regional President’s Office to enable Visa’s internal business units to optimise performance and make intelligence-driven decisions. The team is at the forefront of transforming how intelligence is created and consumed across the organisation — combining Visa’s proprietary data assets, frontier AI, and embedded human expertise to democratise trusted insight at scale. This role sits within the team’s leadership and reports directly to the Head of Business and Strategy Analytics, Asia Pacific.
What a Director, Business and Strategy Analytics does at Visa:
The successful candidate will drive value from Visa’s proprietary data assets and intelligence infrastructure to strengthen decision-making across Asia Pacific. You will combine deep data science leadership with strong commercial acumen — knowing which problems are worth solving, how to frame them precisely, and how to ensure the intelligence that answers them is both scalable and trustworthy.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Own the operating model that connects business stakeholders to the BSA intelligence infrastructure — ensuring analytical questions are well-framed and solutions deliver measurable outcomes
- Drive adoption and active use of BSA intelligence products, AI tools, and self-serve platforms across the organisation, holding accountability for measurable intelligence outcomes in commercial decision-making
- Ensure business stakeholders have access to timely, decision-ready intelligence — spanning management reporting, ad hoc analysis, strategic diagnostics, causal measurement, and AI-assisted insight
- Partner across the BSA team to shape the intelligence product roadmap, grounding prioritisation in real business demand and recurring commercial questions
- Serve as a senior intelligence partner to key business stakeholders, providing direct analytical counsel to leadership team and business stakeholders on high-stakes business questions
- Translate complex and ambiguous business questions into precisely framed data science and intelligence problems that can be built into scalable solutions
- Monitor intelligence output quality, analytical rigour, and adoption outcomes — ensuring AI-generated intelligence meets the standards required for business decisions
- Represent the business perspective in BSA planning cycles and leadership forums, ensuring commercial context shapes the function’s intelligence priorities
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
What you will need:
Technical:
- Minimum 12 years in analytics or data science, with significant leadership of analytical functions in a commercial context; postgraduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent analytical depth gained through practice
- Strong data science foundation with the ability to set analytical standards and critically evaluate the rigour of work produced by others
- AI-native practitioner: uses frontier AI tools as a default part of how problems get solved — able to prototype solutions, not just supervise them, and evaluate outputs with appropriate scepticism
- Sharp judgment on when AI-generated intelligence can be trusted, when it requires validation, and when human analytical judgment must take precedence
- Sufficient technical literacy in modern data and AI infrastructure — cloud platforms, agentic architectures, self-serve intelligence layers — to bridge a build team and business users credibly
- Ability to translate high-stakes, ambiguous commercial problems into precise analytical problem statements that are solvable, scalable, and yield decisions rather than just outputs
Business:
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect intelligence outputs to commercial outcomes; experience in payments, cards, retail banking, or financial services is important
- Proven ability to operate across a regional, multi-market environment — managing competing priorities across geographically and commercially diverse markets with clarity and discipline
- Strong cross-market and cross-cultural leadership, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders, business stakeholders, and technical teams simultaneously
- Experience designing or evolving operating models in a hub-and-spoke or matrixed regional structure
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication — able to translate complex data science and AI concepts into commercial language for senior business audiences, and advocate effectively for intelligence priorities at leadership level
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels — equally at home shaping an operating model and rolling up sleeves to deliver directly in high-priority initiatives
- Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and a genuine drive to stay at the leading edge of how AI is reshaping enterprise intelligence
