Our SAP Public Cloud Centre of Excellence in Manchester sits at the heart of some of the most complex, high-profile SAP Public Cloud programmes in the UK market, from greenfield public sector transformations to large-scale recovery engagements. We're growing fast, which means this is a rare chance to help shape a practice from the ground up rather than join one that's already fully formed. As Technical Lead, you'd be the one senior client CIOs turn to when they need a straight answer on what's technically possible – and the one setting the standard the rest of the CoE builds against. You'll take ownership of technical direction across every Public Cloud engagement we run, from bid through to go-live. That means setting the standards other people build against, not just reviewing their work after the fact. You'll be in the room for the big architectural calls, the client demos that win the bid, and the conversations with SAP about what's coming next on the roadmap.

Expect a genuine mix: hands-on technical assurance one day, mentoring the Data and Development Leads the next, and representing the CoE in front of a client's senior technical stakeholders the day after that. You'll help decide how we apply clean-core and Fit-to-Standard principles across the practice, and your fingerprints will be on every major pursuit we shape.

You're the person others go to when a technical decision needs an owner. You're comfortable being the final word on architecture, and confident enough in your own judgement to make that call under pressure.

You build credibility with senior people fast. Client CIOs and CTOs trust your read on a problem within the first conversation, and you know how to translate technical risk into something a non-technical board can act on. You'd rather build a team's capability than just do the work yourself. You get real satisfaction from watching people you've mentored take on bigger things.

Essentials:

• A strong track record delivering SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition across full lifecycle engagements, with the scars and lessons to show for it.
• Genuine architecture-level command of BTP, integration and clean-core extensibility, not just familiarity with the terms.
• A history of leading technical teams inside a consulting or systems integrator environment.
• The gravitas to hold your own with C-suite and senior client stakeholders, including in high-stakes bid demonstrations.

Desirables:

• SAP Public Cloud certification(s).
• Experience of local or regional government, housing, or wider public sector procurement.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
