Within our Engineering practice, the Quality Engineering team plays a pivotal role, standing at the forefront of ensuring the reliability and performance of technology systems. They drive innovative, end-to-end quality assurance and testing solutions, leveraging continuous test automation, performance engineering, and advanced testing methodologies to accelerate secure delivery, minimise defects, and enhance the overall quality of IT solutions.

Deloitte’s Consumer and Energy, Resources & Industrials (ER&I) practices are actively engaged across these industries to support delivering a wide range of operational, technical, and regulatory solutions designed to help clients create a competitive advantage and achieve their growth ambitions. Our practice works closely with leading organisations in sectors such as Retail, Consumer Products, Manufacturing, Utilities, and Oil & Gas to solve large complex problems, with a particular emphasis on optimising and transforming core business processes, often leveraging SAP technologies.

We are seeking a talented Associate Director to lead Quality Engineering and testing solutions for leading Consumer and ER&I clients, with a strong specialisation in SAP environments. You will shape test strategy across traditional and agile programmes, focusing on complex SAP implementations and transformations. You will also build senior client relationships and strengthen leadership capability. Responsibilities include:

• Lead delivery programmes by defining modern Quality Engineering strategies, test architectures, and assurance frameworks, specifically tailored for SAP landscapes. Work closely with multi-capability teams and senior business and IT stakeholders to deliver high-quality QE outcomes on time.
• Collaborate with our Consumer & ER&I leadership teams, proposition owners and QE to develop and implement ‘Go to market’ propositions to attract new clients, with a focus on SAP-centric solutions.
• Shape client Quality Engineering strategies, roadmaps, and transformation programmes across the Consumer and ER&I sectors, with deep expertise in SAP. Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and guide investment in the right QE tools and methods for SAP environments.
• Help develop Deloitte’s QE propositions for the Consumer and ER&I market through pre-sales, bids, and client presentations, emphasising SAP quality assurance. Support practice growth and contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture.
• Strengthen Deloitte’s QE capability by coaching junior team members and helping define and implement QE accelerators and standards, particularly for SAP testing.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

The following are the core skills and experience required to be successful in this role:

• Deep Consumer or ER&I industry expertise gained in complex client-facing environments, ideally with significant exposure to SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, or other core SAP modules (e.g., SAP Retail, SAP Utilities, SAP EWM, SAP PP, SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP FICO).
• Proven leadership experience providing strategic direction and technical oversight for complex Quality Engineering programmes, specifically within SAP implementation and transformation projects.
• Strong experience defining QE strategies across functional, automation, performance, security, data, and non-functional testing within Consumer and ER&I sectors, with a strong focus on SAP environments.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, business writing and professional skills, including being able to bridge both technical (especially SAP) and business stakeholders.
• Extensive client-facing consulting experience, advising organisations on Quality Engineering challenges, opportunities, and transformation priorities within SAP landscapes.
• Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing Quality Engineering teams and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, particularly in SAP testing methodologies.

The following will be desirable skills:

• A proven track record in a top-tier consultancy.
• Exposure to additional SAP platforms and related technologies such as SAP Ariba, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Concur, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP CPI, SAP BTP, or other industry-specific SAP solutions.
• Extensive experience with SAP testing tools (e.g., SAP Solution Manager, Tricentis Tosca for SAP, Worksoft Certify).
• Ability to oversee the design and implementation of the test automation frameworks specifically for SAP applications.
• Relevant certifications e.g. ISTQB Advanced Test Manager, SAFe Agilist, or SAP certifications.
• Experience in administering a test management tool (e.g., Xray for Jira, Zephyr) in an SAP context.
