Purpose of the role

To extract meaningful insights from complex data sets, developing robust decision models, and presenting actionable recommendations to stakeholders across the departments. 

Accountabilities

• Identification and extraction of relevant data from various internal and external sources.
• Performing sensitivity analysis and scenario planning.
• Monitoring and evaluation of the performance of existing models.
• Development and implementation of data quality control procedures.
• Building and validation of quantitative models to support decision-making across different business areas.

As a Scheme Fee Manager in the team, you will own the initial assessment of all new scheme fee changes presenting these back to the team and for a subset take on the assessment of the client impact, assisting with the specification of any required system changes and finally live proving post implementation. You will join a dynamic and fast paced team which works with high profile strategic clients owning a £300M cost line. You will develop the subject matter expertise to act as an advisor to our stakeholders including merchants, technology, scheme management, finance and the value management leadership team.

Some key responsibilities you will have include:

• Triaging scheme fee changes and presenting back to the team.
• Taking ownership of allocated scheme changes from merchant impact through to live proving in the processing system.
• Assisting with the improvement of current processes within the team.
• Contributing work to migrate merchants between the existing and new tech processing platforms.
• Maintaining strong domain knowledge demonstrating your subject matter expertise to the business, including the various mechanisms used to calculate scheme fees.
• Being aware of the external environment and what best in class looks like will be required to achieve this.
• Presenting detailed cost analysis to key strategic clients highlighting areas for optimisation and the impact of any upcoming changes.
• Investigating significant reconciliation variances between fee calculation and scheme invoices to ensure that pricing remains aligned to costs and protecting the margin.
• Liaising with Technology to ensure that system changes are implemented to the required specification.
• Leading the quarterly scheme reporting looking to enhance the process where possible.

In order to be successful as a Scheme Fee Manager, you will need to have experience with:

• Good Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Problem solving, analytical skills and financial analysis.
• Proven communication skills with customers and senior stakeholder management.
• Experience using SQL or equivalent.
• Degree equivalent in a STEM subject.
• An understanding of scheme costs and processes.
