The Role
As Assistant Manager, GWO, Corporate Lending Services, Canadian Agency & Bilateral, you will support the delivery of accurate, timely and controlled loan administration services for corporate credit facilities where the Bank acts as agent or direct lender. In this role, you may provide day-to-day oversight to a team of Loan Analysts, helping manage workflow, productivity, operational controls and service delivery across syndicated and bilateral lending activities. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Support a customer-focused culture by delivering reliable loan operations service and helping strengthen relationships with internal partners and corporate lending clients.
- Oversee, as directed, the administration of syndicated and bilateral loan activity, including limit availability, calculation accuracy, disbursements and the application of funds.
- Review loan authorizations and documentation to ensure pricing, terms, limits and other conditions are accurately reflected and followed.
- Work with internal teams, external financial institutions and other stakeholders to resolve operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify exceptions to established policies, procedures or documentation requirements and escalate them to management for guidance and resolution.
- Use LoanIQ and other relevant platforms to support accurate transaction processing, accounting entries, reporting and business line communication.
- Monitor workflow, staffing needs, work volumes and team productivity, providing regular updates to the Manager or Senior Manager.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to team members and support training, issue resolution and consistent application of internal processes.
- Support effective operational controls by applying the Bank’s risk appetite, risk culture and applicable requirements related to operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF and conduct risk.
- Contribute to a high-performing and inclusive team environment by supporting onboarding, development planning, workload coordination and process consistency.
- Assist management with exception items, operational improvements, reporting requests and project-related assignments.
- Manage direct reports, if assigned, including performance activities and adherence to internal processes.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in corporate lending operations, loan administration, syndicated lending, bilateral lending or a related banking operations environment.
- Working knowledge of loan documentation, credit facility terms, pricing, limits, disbursements and repayment/application of funds.
- Experience using LoanIQ or another commercial lending, loan servicing or banking operations platform.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
