Tech4Engineering Consumer Interaction
The Consumer Interaction area plays a pivotal role within this ecosystem by simplifying the end to end engineering journey. By bringing engineering insights to the forefront, translating them into seamless experiences, and driving adoption of standardized services, the area ensures solutions are easy to discover, use, and continuously improve. It enables engineers, squads and related roles to start strong, work efficiently, and deliver impact from day one—contributing to a more predictable, scalable, and value-driven IT organization.
Role
As senior tech lead you continuously interact with your environment and stakeholders to ensure the right services are provided. In collaboration with the Area Lead and Business Architect, you ensure prioritization, roadmap delivery, and optimal contribution to Rabobank’s strategic goals. Within the area triangle, you serve as the main IT delivery expert. Your role consist of responsibilities including:
- Define and execute the IT delivery strategy for the Consumer Interaction area. Co-create and implement a compelling IT vision for the Tech4Engineering domain in close collaboration with the Consumer Interaction management triangle and other tech leads
- Able to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, demonstrate strong political sensitivity and engagement across all levels
- Drive operational transformation and innovation, improve work item management, team performance dashboards, and strategic portfolio oversight to boost delivery efficiency and quality.
- Advance the Simplified@Scale and DevOps maturity in the area, embedding it seamlessly into daily operations and aligning it with work item management to foster continuous improvement and engineering excellence
- Proactively manage IT risks, uphold security standards, and maintain demonstrable control within the IT framework
- Act as stand by manager once per quarter to support business continuity and 24x7 service delivery
- Serve as hierarchical manager for approximately 6 squads, totaling around 40 colleagues including Scrum Masters, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and DevOps Engineers, fostering skill development and craftsmanship
- Oversee budgets, optimize service deployment and maintenance efficiency
- Create balanced onshore and offshore teams, actively manage vendors and partners, including contract negotiations, joint development efforts and on-site visits
- Lead the transition to empowered, high-performing teams with strong technical and soft skill capabilities by continuous upskilling, reskilling and learning
Qualifications
As a Senior Tech Lead within Tech4Engineering, you play a strategic and operational leadership role. You are a member of the Management Team (MT) of Tech4Engineering, where you help shape and further develop the IT strategy. You bring strong technical expertise in software development, security, and performance, and are well-versed in agile methodologies. You understand the risk and compliance requirements of a bank and have a broad interest in IT trends.
You are a self-starter with intrinsic motivation and a strong sense of ownership. You have experience in hiring the right people and work directly with squads to deliver solutions that make a positive impact for Rabobank’s IT ecosystem.
- Academic working and thinking level.
- At least 10 years of experience in similar roles within complex IT environments.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to weigh interests and risks alongside business objectives, bringing sharpness to discussions, and constructively challenge your environment.
- Strong influencing skills at the highest level, with a focus on broad stakeholder management, people development, and behavioral change.
- Analytical and innovative thinking within defined standards, policies, and objectives, contributing to the strategic vision and IT roadmap of both the tribe and the area.
- Comfortable managing a span of control of approximately 40 employees.
- Knowledge of and experience with service capabilities of work item management, team performance insights, strategic portfolio management, service design, marketing and consumer success enablement.
- Proven success in guiding DevOps teams through transitions toward aligned autonomy and high performance.
- Experience with DevOps teams and scaled Agile, preferably in a triangle setup at the Area level with Business, Architecture, and IT representatives (e.g., Spotify Simplify @ Scale model).
- Demonstrated experience with offshore and nearshore development.
- Strong affinity and passion for software development and operations, including its latest market and technological developments.
- Proficiency in both Dutch and English at a business level, written and spoken.
- Experience in the financial sector or other regulated industries is considered a plus.
