As a Managed Services Engineer II, you will design, build, deploy, and optimize AI-powered solutions that support business and technology transformation. In this role, you will work across product, engineering, customer, and stakeholder teams to deliver scalable solutions from discovery and design through production rollout and post-go-live optimization. You will apply software engineering, systems integration, and AI capabilities to help solve complex business and technology challenges.
Work you'll do
DataStax Cassandra Database Administrator (DBA) is primarily responsible for the maintenance, optimization, and administration of existing Cassandra/DataStax Enterprise (DSE) clusters, collaborating closely with development teams on data modeling and performance. The role demands strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently with general supervision.
Apply industry knowledge to requirements gathering and analysis, ensuring alignment with sector needs. Demonstrate expertise across the entire software development lifecycle, from design and coding to deployment and defect resolution, collaborating with stakeholders for effective delivery. Conduct peer and team reviews to maintain quality standards. Actively engage in Agile practices, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and effort estimation. Build and share business process knowledge, supporting project knowledge management and team training. Proactively recommend process improvements, track efficiency gains, and contribute to automation and innovation, all aimed at enhancing project outcomes and delivering greater value to clients.

Qualifications
Required:
• 3 - 6 years of hands-on experience in DataStax Casandra database administration
• Administer and support DataStax Cassandra environments across non-production and production, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
• Perform day-to-day operational tasks: monitoring/alerting review, incident triage, and routine maintenance.
• Configure and maintain clusters (node provisioning/decommissioning, repairs, compaction, backup/restore procedures) in line with change management processes.
• Support performance and stability troubleshooting (latency, timeouts, GC pressure, disk utilization, hotspotting); perform root-cause analysis and document fixes.
• Assist with capacity planning (storage growth, throughput, node sizing) based on usage trends and agreed targets.
• Support upgrades and patching (Cassandra/DataStax distribution and related components) with validation and rollback planning.
• Implement and maintain security controls (authentication/authorization, encryption, key management—as applicable) aligned to enterprise standards.
• Partner with application and platform teams on data model and query pattern reviews to reduce operational risk and improve performance.
• Maintain operational documentation (runbooks, standards, procedures) and participate in on-call/after-hours support as required.
• BE/ B.Tech/M.C.A./ M.Sc (CS) degree or equivalent from accredited university
The DataStax administrator role involves setting up the cluster, optimization of the read and write data, copying data from other file systems Use technical knowledge to identify areas to improve. Provide flexible solutions to complex business problems using our technology practices. Collaborate closely with developers to implement requirements and provide necessary guidance. Database backup and restore. Handling missing critical DB scenario.
Preferred:
• Experience with any one of the following databases is required: Netezza, PostgreSQL, Informix, Mainframe, SQL Server, Oracle, Cosmos DB, IBM Db2 (UDB), or an Enterprise Data Warehouse.
