Position Summary
Level: SAP FPSL Functional Consultant
We are seeking an SAP FPSL Functional Consultant to support the design, configuration, implementation and post-go-live operations of SAP S/4HANA for Financial Products Subledger. You will work with finance, actuarial and technical teams to translate regulatory accounting requirements, including IFRS 17, IFRS 9, US GAAP and multi-GAAP reporting, into effective subledger solutions for banking and insurance clients.
What You Will Do
· Configure and implement SAP FPSL - Set up the source data layer, accounting rules engine, and result data layer. Configure multi-GAAP capabilities, including Central GAAP / Delta GAAP and subledger posting logic for financial instruments and insurance contracts.
- Support accounting and measurement requirements - Assist with accounting configurations and reporting support for IFRS 17, IFRS 9, US GAAP and other multi-GAAP requirements.
- For IFRS 17, support the three measurement models: General Measurement Model (GMM), Premium Allocation Approach (PAA), and Variable Fee Approach (VFA), including related concepts such as CSM, risk adjustment, fulfillment cash flows and discounting.
- For IFRS 9, support accounting and reporting requirements related to classification and measurement, expected credit loss (ECL), amortized cost, fair value through other comprehensive income (FVOCI), fair value through profit or loss (FVTPL) and impairment/provisioning.
- Manage FSDP integration and data mapping - Map actuarial, policy and transactional data into SAP FSDP. Ensure clean data flow from source systems into FPSL.
- Support period-end close and GL integration - Assist with subledger journal entry creation, aggregation and GL transfer. Execute period-end steps and perform subledger-to-GL reconciliation.
- Support testing, defect management and go-live activities - Prepare test scripts and data, execute SIT, support UAT, analyze defects with ABAP/data teams and provide hypercare and production support.
- Engage stakeholders and document solutions - Participate in client workshops and requirement-gathering sessions. Produce functional specifications, process flows and configuration documentation.

Qualifications:
Must have Skills:
- 3-6 years of SAP functional experience, with hands-on SAP FPSL exposure across at least one full implementation.
- Strong understanding of SAP FPSL architecture - Source data layer, accounting rules engine and result data layer and its integration with SAP S/4HANA General Ledger.
- Working knowledge of IFRS 9, IFRS 17, US GAAP and multi-GAAP concepts, including accounting and reporting requirements across these frameworks.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA Financial Accounting (FI), including general ledger, chart of accounts, document types and GL posting integration.
- Experience in financial services - banking, insurance/reinsurance, or fintech is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex accounting requirements into SAP configuration, with clear communication across finance, actuarial and technical teams.
Good to have Skills:
- Basic ABAP debugging skills for troubleshooting processing or posting issues.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery models.
