Our Major Programmes Business

Deloitte’s Major Programmes practice, part of Human Capital, helps clients tackle complex, high-impact programmes by combining industry insight, programme delivery expertise, and practical transformation experience.

As programmes become more cross-cutting, capital-intensive, and technology-enabled, clients rely on us to shape, mobilise, and deliver transformation in new and more effective ways.

Our next-generation delivery approach, Programme Aerodynamics, brings together strategy, programme delivery, digital, leadership, and human-centred transformation capabilities to help clients anticipate and manage change, risk, and uncertainty across the programme lifecycle. Our diverse team blends industry and consulting experience to deliver the insight, capability, and leadership needed for major programme success.

Technology, Media & Telecommunications

Our people are high-calibre professionals with deep Technology, Media & Telecommunications sector experience, with essential experience in telco technology-enabled transformation. They are passionate about helping clients navigate a fast-changing market shaped by AI, data, digital infrastructure, platform convergence, customer expectations, regulation, and sustained cost pressure. We work with leading organisations across the TMT ecosystem, including:

• Telecommunications operators and infrastructure providers modernising networks, simplifying legacy estates, and transforming customer, product, service, and enterprise platforms
• Media, entertainment, and sports organisations adapting operating models, content supply chains, rights management, advertising technology, and direct-to-consumer propositions
• Technology, software, and digital platform businesses scaling products, data, cloud, AI, and commercial operations in competitive and fast-moving markets
• TMT clients undertaking complex enterprise transformation, merger integration, cost optimisation, regulatory response, and major programme recovery

Our Major Programmes business sits within Human Capital – the world’s leading people and HR transformation business. As part of a practice that combines programme leadership, transformation expertise, technology understanding, and deep TMT sector knowledge, you’ll help clients shape, mobilise, and deliver complex transformation programmes that improve performance, accelerate value, and create sustainable outcomes for customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Role as an Associate Director:

• Lead complex TMT and telco technology-enabled transformation programmes from strategy through execution, partnering with clients to shape, mobilise, and deliver priority outcomes
• Act as a senior delivery leader across Deloitte, client, and third-party teams, ensuring clear outcomes, integrated plans, robust governance, and effective management of risks, issues, dependencies, and critical paths
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders across functional, technology, commercial, and operational teams, supporting executive sponsor engagement where needed
• Driving the development of our Major Programmes capability to ensure we are always at the forefront of quality and impact for our clients
• Manage and oversee our priority TMT accounts and relationships, including leading commercial proposals, the development and application of Deloitte points-of-view, and end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of transformation projects and programmes to the highest standards of quality
• Using TMT market insights to solve client challenges related to digital transformation, data, and operational change
• Own delivery quality, commercial discipline, risk management, and compliance with Deloitte governance and professional standards
• Design and operate programme controls across reporting, RAID, financials, benefits, dependencies, and decision-making forums
• Contributing to priority TMT accounts by identifying client needs, shaping opportunities, developing proposals, and supporting commercial conversations with Partners and Directors
• Develop high-performing teams through day-to-day leadership, coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities, within an inclusive culture, and support our people in their development
• Apply consulting experience, TMT sector knowledge, delivery methods, tools, and technologies to anticipate and address programme challenges
• Helping develop Major Programmes propositions, perspectives, and points of view that are relevant to TMT clients and grounded in practical delivery experience
• Collaborate across Deloitte teams and alliances to bring the best of Technology & Transformation, Human Capital, AI & Data, Engineering, Strategy, Risk, and Tax & Legal to client problems.
• Model Deloitte’s values and help create an inclusive, high-trust environment for colleagues and clients

Connect to your skills and professional experience

You’re curious, collaborative, proactive, and comfortable solving complex challenges in fast-moving client environments.

You should bring strong experience in most of the following:

• Essential experience managing or leading the delivery of large-scale, complex telco technology-enabled transformation programmes from end-to end, either in industry, a consulting or professional services environment, or both
• Strong understanding of TMT sector dynamics, including network and platform modernisation, digital and data transformation, AI adoption, content and customer propositions, regulatory change, cost transformation, and operating model evolution
• End-to-end telco digital or technology transformation experience, including enterprise platforms, cloud, data, customer, service, product, or operations delivery using agile, hybrid, or scaled methods
• Strong programme governance, controls, reporting, financial management, and delivery discipline in transformation, portfolio, or programme office environments
• Proven ability to manage all stages of commercial engagement, including proposals, contracting, and delivery, with responsibility for managing budgets, profitability, and billing
• Proven ability to build, convert, and manage a pipeline of opportunities and projects
• Designing, mobilising, and leading complex programmes and diverse teams in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
• Commercial awareness across budgets, contracts, statements of work, change control, and delivery economics
• Experience contributing to business development, including shaping propositions, developing bids and proposals, supporting account planning, and bringing relevant industry insight to client conversations
• Clear communication, presentation, and senior stakeholder management skills across business and technology audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complexity into clear recommendations and actions
• Coaching, mentoring, and inclusive leadership experience, with a focus on developing high-performing teams
• A self-starting, resilient, and motivated style
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, and alliance partners
• Programme recovery, including executive engagement, recovery planning, or reshaping in-flight and challenged programmes across TMT or adjacent sectors
• ServiceNow, SAP, or AI-enabled programme experience, including implementation, integration, adoption, operating model change, or recovery

Preferred, but not required:

• Hyperscaler or cloud migration experience, including strategy, migration planning, platform modernisation, adoption, and operating model change
