We are currently seeking a manager to join the Global Employer Services (GES) team within the tax function.

How will you Make an Impact?

As a tax professional at Deloitte, you are responsible for proactively assisting clients with international mobility, reward structures, personal tax compliance and advisory services for globally mobile individuals. As a manager, you will be required to manage engagements and client relationships, delivering high-quality solutions, engage with, guide and oversee team members in their day-to-day requests, as well as keeping abreast with tax developments, in order to help our clients excel globally.

Your main tasks will include but are not limited to the following:

• Lead and be actively involved in managing mobility and reward engagements, advising clients on expatriate tax matters, social security, immigration and payroll considerations for international assignments and mobile individuals;
• Review tax returns for individuals working across borders;
• Manage and co-ordinate engagements, whilst supporting clients with immigration, work permits and relocation processes;
• Coordinate with global teams;
• Provide quality tax advice to both local and international clients;
• Keep abreast with tax developments, both locally and internationally;
• Applying technical knowledge when assisting leadership in client advisory projects as well as during the project lifecycle;
• Assist in developing and implementing policies for international assignments;
• Manage client queries and provide ongoing support.

Your Specialised skills:

• At least 4-5 years’ experience working within a similar role in tax;
• Be in possession of a university degree in Law or Accountancy, or an equivalent qualification such as ACA or ACCA;
• Be able to work on their own initiative and have a strong work ethic;
• Be able to work on cross-functional engagements with other departments within the firm;
• Have an excellent command of written and spoken English;
• Be self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal, organisation and analytical skills.

Ways to Stand Out:

• Previous experience in expatriate taxation or global mobility.
• Profound understanding of Maltese and international tax framework.
