Work you will do
Deloitte is growing its Strategy, Risk, and Transaction (SR&T) – Valuation & Modeling practice in Southeast Asia. We use advanced modelling and valuation tools to partner with our clients to unlock asset value, drive strategic decisions, and mitigate risks, including acquisition assessments, financial reporting, dispute resolution, and portfolio valuation, ensuring accurate valuations for investment portfolios.
You will work alongside our clients to bring a rigorous, evidence based analytical capability to help them solve pressing and complex issues. This includes revealing insight and delivering value through pragmatic and actionable recommendations. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our clients to understand the forces that are driving change, identifying opportunities and develop solutions across the whole organization.
The nature of the work we do includes:
- Performing financial reporting valuations for business combinations, including purchase price allocations, enterprise values, intangible assets, financial instruments, and legal entities.
- Supporting goodwill and indefinite-lived and long-lived asset impairment analyses for financial reporting purposes.
- Conducting valuations for tax purposes across various tax matters, including tax written down allowances.
- Assisting clients with business plan development, strategic investment decisions, and other financial objectives through valuation analyses.
- Preparing valuations for derivative securities, debt instruments, employee stock option plans, and regulatory or compliance purposes.
- Preparing valuations for other purposes, such as M&A, circulars and litigation support/ dispute resolution.
- Working closely with partners and directors to drive business growth through executive-level client relationships, strategic pursuits, and the development of new market opportunities across industries and geographies.
- Working closely with partners and directors to provide oversight across a portfolio of complex client engagements, ensuring exceptional client outcomes, commercial success, effective risk management, and adherence to professional standards.
- Working closely with partners and directors to shape the strategic direction and growth of the Valuation & Modeling practice through thought leadership, innovation, capability building, recruitment, and talent development initiatives.

Requirements
- Possesses an undergraduate or master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Quantitative Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized university, with outstanding academic credentials.
- Professional certifications such as CVA (or equivalent) or CFA are considered an advantage.
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant working experience in business valuation, intangible asset valuation, and/or financial instrument valuation experience.
- Deep experience in applying cost, market, and income valuation approaches, including discounted cash flow, guideline public company, guideline transaction, excess earnings, relief-from-royalty, with-and-without, comparative sales, replacement cost, capital asset pricing model methodologies and option pricing models (including standard and customised binomial models).
- Deep experience in conducting client, economic, industry, competitor, and quantitative analyses to support valuation and advisory engagements.
- Deep experience in providing strategic and technical leadership on complex valuation matters.
- Strong understanding of professional standards, industry practices, IFRS aligned financial reporting standards (or relevant local GAAP), and tax requirements applicable to business and intangible asset valuations.
- Deep experience in preparing and reviewing complex valuation reports, presentations, and other client deliverables.
- Deep experience in leading and managing complex valuation engagements, including project planning, resource management, budgets, timelines, risk management, and delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Deep experience in supervising, coaching, developing, and evaluating team members while fostering collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance.
- Proven ability to advise C-suite executives, boards of directors, investors, and other senior stakeholders on valuation-related business-critical decisions, value creation initiatives, capital allocation, and valuation-related transaction-related matters.
- Demonstrated success in originating opportunities, leading valuation-related strategic pursuits, expanding executive-level client relationships, and driving valuation-related business growth across industries and geographies.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify valuation-related emerging opportunities, shape valuation-related market propositions, and translate valuation-related complex business challenges into actionable solutions.
- Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams and overseeing a portfolio of complex engagements, ensuring commercial success, effective risk management, and exceptional client outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to shape practice growth through thought leadership, innovation, capability building, talent development, and recruitment initiatives.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the executive presence to influence senior leaders across diverse industries, functions, and geographies.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site at client premises as required by client service engagements.
- Highly coachable, adaptable, and committed to continuous professional development, with a strong work ethic.
