Trade Services (TRA) is a strategic activity within Société Générale, drawing on the expertise of a large international banking group with more than twenty years of experience. We are active in Trade Services throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, Overseas, and the Middle East.The responsiveness and dynamism of our teams, their knowledge of market practices and regulations, the strength of our networks, and our diverse product range allow us to optimize daily cash flow, commercial, and financial transactions for corporate clients.As Middle Officer Trade Services, you will support the GTB/Trade Services team in Amsterdam in executing trade transactions for Dutch, Nordic and Belgian customers. You will report to the Coordinator of the Netherlands & Belgium Trade Middle Office, fully based in Amsterdam.The Netherlands & Belgium Trade Middle Office operates as a hub, with the TRA teams in SG Amsterdam and SG Brussels working seamlessly together. Each desk acts as a mutual backup, ensuring business continuity, efficient workload sharing, and consistent service quality to clients across the region. The successful candidate will therefore collaborate closely with both locations and contribute to the overall performance of this integrated hub model.The Middle Officer Trade Services works in a fully integrated Netherlands & Belgium hub environment and interacts closely with the Front Office and Middle Office teams in both Amsterdam and Brussels. The role also involves regular coordination with our Head Office in Paris, as well as all GTB stakeholders, including Product Teams, Global Banker Teams, Relationship Managers, product development units, and the departments responsible for risk analysis and monitoring at Head Office. This cross-border setup ensures consistent service delivery, operational continuity, and strong collaboration across the entire GTB network.Products and services handled in Amsterdam include, among others:International GuaranteesImport Letters of CreditExport Letters of CreditActive cross-selling with the various Business Lines of the Bank, especially with GTB’s cash management and factoring departmentsTasks and responsibilities:Support of the Trade Sales Team in executing Trade Finance transactionsFollow up on client requests and needs, and identify new opportunitiesClose cooperation with Back Office teams in connection with monitoring/handling of client orders and other operational issuesClose cooperation with all teams within the global Trade Services Network, as well as with all supporting teams within Paris headquarters and other locationsActive cooperation with all other local business lines within the Amsterdam BranchManaging administrative tasks in connection with Trade Services transactions (invoicing, internal & regulatory reporting etc.)Create added value for clients pro-actively identifying synergies within the Global Transaction Banking Business Lines (like cash management or factoring)Execute compliance checks before the transactions and obtain upfront compliance approvals before processing a trade transactionCreate or maintain RMA keys in order to manage the connected correspondent banksVerify availability within credit facility before executing trade transactionsParticipate in the permanent supervision activities of the trade services deskMonitor validation of credit linesProfile requiredStudies & experience:Relevant HBO bachelor levelPrevious experience in Finance or Banking would be appreciatedLanguage skills:Written and verbal fluency in English and DutchFrench is optional but would represent an advantageTechnical, operational & Soft skills:Ability to work with multiple stakeholdersGood knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and superior analytical and quantitative skillsProven experience with trade finance products (letters of credit, guarantees,…) would be appreciatedGood communication, presentation and writing skills for pitching, other languages could be useful for this positionPro-active team player but also able to work autonomouslyTime management, organizational and planning skills with proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong client service orientation, solid operational and process knowledge, familiarity with regulatory and risk frameworks, analytical and communication skills, and uncompromising professional integrityExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), and is comfortable working in a cross-border, collaborative environmentWhy join usSociété Générale Netherlands is a multi-category bank offering every employee the possibility to have several careers in a professional career path.
