Specialist General Ledger (temporary)

SIX Global Business Solutions, based in the heart of Warsaw, is part of SIX Group and has been recognized as one of the “Best Workplaces” in Poland for six consecutive years (2019–2024). We are looking for a motivated Specialist in General Ledger Accounting to temporarily strengthen our General Ledger (GL) Team. The GL Team manages general ledger processes and regulatory reporting for Swiss and international SIX entities. In this position, you will take ownership of monthly and annual closing activities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and IFRS. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare accurate financial statements for international entities, and take over specific monthly accounting tasks such as VAT and payroll accounting (SAP FI). This role is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of general ledger accounting expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work autonomously.
What You Will Do
- manage daily accounting operations, including booking and reconciling entries, and lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for assigned entities
- prepare financial statements in line with applicable GAAP, and support external audit processes
- handling of specific accounting tasks, such as VAT and payroll accounting (SAP FI)
- collaborate with various departments and external partners to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance
What You Bring
- degree in Finance & Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- at least 2 years of experience in a General Ledger environment
- solid knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, international GAAP) and financial processes
- proven experience in SAP S4/hana
- excellent communication skills in English and Polish (German is a plus), with a proactive, team-oriented mindset and focus on high-quality results
