Data Engineer
Data Platform & Reporting — Microsoft Fabric, Azure Cloud, SSRS
As a Data Engineer at Generali, you will support the development and operation of the company’s data platform in Microsoft Fabric and Azure Cloud. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders and external technology partners on data integration, data modelling, and reporting solutions, while also supporting SQL queries and SSRS reporting needs related to the company’s core systems.
Main responsibilities:
• Support the implementation and operation of the corporate Data Warehouse using Microsoft Fabric and Azure technologies;
• Assist in the development and maintenance of data warehouse / lakehouse architecture;
• Develop and maintain SQL queries for analytical and reporting purposes;
• Follow established development standards, guidelines, and best practices;
• Assist in designing and maintaining relational and dimensional data models;
• Collaborate with business users and analysts to understand data requirements and support reporting needs;
• Monitor data quality and help ensure data accuracy and reliability;
• Support datasets and reports used in Power BI and MS SSRS
Nice to have:
• Microsoft SSIS or similar ETL tools;
• Azure cloud platform experience;
• Git / version control;
• Basic scripting — Shell or similar;
• Insurance industry background
Requirements:
• Familiarity or hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and its core components (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Pipelines);
• Understanding of basic data warehouse concepts — fact and dimension tables;
• Experience writing SQL queries for data analysis and reporting (T-SQL is a plus);
• Basic understanding of ETL / ELT processes in a modern data platform;
• Knowledge of SQL — T-SQL preferred;
• Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI and/or MS SSRS;
• Willingness to learn, improve, and work with new data technologies
