Banca Generali (www.bancagenerali.com) – (the “Bank”), a leading private bank in Italy in financial planning as well as client’s asset protection through a network of top-level professional private consultants, is looking for a Legal Specialist to join its Legal Affairs Finance & Wealth Management Unit, based in Milan and operating within the General Counsel perimeter.
The Unit provides specialized legal support across a broad range of activities, with a particular focus on the following areas:
- technology law, digital, IT, operational and data governance matters, including regulatory frameworks on operational resilience, artificial intelligence, data sharing and cybersecurity;
- promotional, marketing and communication activities carried out by the Bank (including sponsorships and events);
- protection, exploitation and enhancement of the Bank’s image, brand and other intellectual property rights;
- investment services provided by the Bank;
- distribution in Italy of third-party products and services.
Working in close coordination with the other members of the Unit, the successful candidate will be involved in the following activities:
- drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal and contractual documentation (both standard and tailor made) with particular reference to: (i) outsourcing arrangements and third party services, including ICT, digital, cloud and data driven services; (ii) promotional, marketing and communication activities carried out by the Bank; (iii) protection, exploitation and enhancement of the image, brand and other intellectual property and copyright rights of the Bank and its subsidiaries, and (iv) internal policies, procedures and contractual standards.
- providing legal advice, opinions and memoranda to the Bank’s internal functions on a wide spectre of legal matters including digitalization, artificial intelligence systems, data governance and cybersecurity, as well as promotional, marketing and communication initiatives and intellectual property matters;
- coordination and supervision of external legal counsels, as appropriate;
- providing day-by-day general legal assistance within the scope of the Unit’s responsibilities, including monitoring and analysing Italian and EU developments applicable to the Bank and its subsidiaries.
- Law Degree;
- Bar admission;
- Previous professional experience of at least 3 years gained within leading Italian or international law firms or structured in-house legal departments of banks or other supervised entities;
- Excellent knowledge of English language, both written and spoken.
