Within Generali Group Cyber Security, the AI Software Engineering & Agentic Development team builds next-generation security tooling and platforms that leverage agentic coding and AI-assisted development. The team operates with a strong engineering culture embedded within the Cyber Security function of one of Europe's largest insurance groups.
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who can architect and own entire product verticals across backend, frontend, and infrastructure, building security-relevant products in a regulated environment (NIS2/DORA).
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Design and implement backend services in Python (e.g. FastAPI), including data models, business logic, and integrations with cloud infrastructure
- Develop and integrate Java components and services where needed, ensuring interoperability with the Python backend and existing systems
- Build and maintain frontends with modern frameworks and UI libraries (e.g. React, Tailwind CSS), ensuring quality, performance, and usability
- Lead system design decisions: define service boundaries, API contracts, data flows, and infrastructure topology
- Integrate AI and agentic components into the platform, leveraging agentic coding tools to accelerate development velocity, applying secure-by-design and AI-security guardrails
- Apply secure development practices (secure SDLC, basic threat modeling, SAST/DAST/SCA) and address AI-specific risks (prompt injection, excessive agency, data exposure) in the components built
- Proactively surface technical risks, propose mitigation strategies, and drive resolution, operating with a strong sense of ownership
This is a senior individual contributor role with high impact, inside the Cyber Security function of one of Europe's largest insurance groups.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent demonstrable expertise (security-related background a plus)
- 6+ years of full stack engineering experience with genuine depth across backend and frontend, not just surface familiarity
- Strong Python backend skills: REST API design, async patterns, ORM, testing, and production operations
- Solid proficiency with a modern frontend framework and typed JavaScript (e.g. React, TypeScript) plus UI/styling libraries; ability to own the frontend stack independently
- Cloud fluency on at least one major provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP): compute, containers, managed databases, object storage, messaging, CDN; comfortable with IaC (Terraform or equivalent)
- Experience with agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor); familiarity with AI-native development workflows highly valued
- Working knowledge of application security and secure coding (OWASP Top 10; awareness of OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications) and of secure SDLC; awareness of the NIS2/DORA regulatory context a plus
