Your role
The role is for a senior Market Risk Officer covering APAC Equity trading portfolios within the Global Markets business based in Hong Kong.Are you interested in a career in risk control, focusing on market risks? We’re looking for someone like you to:
• Monitor market developments and the firm’s risk exposures, ensuring risks are accurately measured, clearly understood, and appropriately controlled
• Act as a risk partner to the trading desks, providing independent oversight and constructive challenge across key risk topics, including control effectiveness, risk assessments, and issue management
• Undertaking portfolio risks; perform risk assessments and approve transactions within the delegated market risk authority and in accordance with internal policies and regulations
• Reviewing the appropriateness of limits frameworks and related controls
• Understand the quantitative implications of pricing, valuation and risks modelling that impact bottom line revenues
• Maintaining a climate of openness, transparency and accountability in the team

Your team
You’ll be based on the trading floor working in the APAC Equities Market Risk Control team in Hong Kong. The global team is spread across APAC, US and EMEA regions, you will also closely work with colleagues in Australia, Japan, Singapore, London and New York.We monitor the portfolio risk of relevant trading desks to ensure that risk exposures are appropriately diversified, that the risk profile is in line with our risk appetite, and that non-standard risks are adequately identified, controlled, and made transparent.
Your expertise
• You’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.You have:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in markets-related roles, with an emphasis on market risk management of Equity products. Front Office experience would be of benefit
• University degree in finance, economics, engineering or a numerical discipline
• Keen interest and understanding of financial markets and key market risk measures
•Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply quantitative techniques to solve practical problems
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics clearly and intuitively
• Collaborative nature and enjoy the challenge of working in a global, diverse team
• Develop and update risk control frameworks, limit methodologies, and stress test scenarios
