What you'll be doing
- Act as a trusted business partner to key divisions, challenging assumptions, identifying opportunities and risks and supporting management decision making.
- Prepare and validate actual results, transforming financial and operational data into actionable insights, identifying performance drivers and recommending actions.
- Develop forecasts, business scenarios and sensitivity analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
- Participate in strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects impacting the bank's financial performance.
- Take leadership in managerial presentations of results/budget/plan, incl. peers and benchmarking.
- Analyze management information and drivers of trends behind the results/KPIs.
- Interpret, visualize and communicate well the story behind complex data.
- Build story lines to help understanding and support decision making.
- Collect, analyze and structure financial data from various sources and generate regular and ad-hoc reports, maintaining financial reporting solutions aligned with internal stakeholder needs.
- Ensure data quality and support other units in resolving issues related to report accuracy, data consistency and validation processes.
- Drive automation and optimization initiatives leveraging Power BI, Power Automate, SQL and emerging AI tools to improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability. Implement automation solutions for recurring reporting processes, targeting the elimination of manual activities and operational risk.
- Support team effectiveness through knowledge sharing, collaboration and cross-training across key processes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Advanced analytical and data manipulation skills, including SQL, Power BI, Power automate and excel.
- Interest in AI-enabled analytics, process automation and data-driven decision making.
- Professional experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Controlling, Reporting or Business Analytics.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to identify performance drivers and cause-and-effect relationships.
- Ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear business messages for senior management.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior management.
- High level of commitment and flexibility, proactive and independent, able to take full responsibility and deliver high quality results under time pressure.
- Ability to prioritize work to manage his or her own work with minimal supervision and produce accurate results with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly, to organize time effectively, to use own initiative and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and willingness to challenge the status quo.
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics or related field.
- Fluent in English.
- Fluent in Bulgarian (written and spoken).
- Work Location: Sofia, Bulgaria.
